There are a lot better programs to use for music production other than Cubase...Maschine, Pro Tools, etc...
Spoken like a true idiot, i mean newbie.
Look guys there is nothing wrong with Cubase. It was the FIRST main d.a.w. software used by anyone. It sounds amazing. I would say it is the only software that does midi as well as audio and vice versa. ProTools is amazing for editing and mixer routing but doesn't do midi extremely well. Other software that does midi well doesn't handle audio and editing as well. Logic is about the only other D.A.W. that handles midi as well as audio.
But this is important. What software you use has almost zero to do with sound quality. They all use the same basic concept. Quality comes from gain staging, mic placement, analog equipment quality, and over-all recording technique practices. And remember that the better job you do recording the easier mixing is. Learn how to gain stage and buy decent gear. That's 90% of the work right there. Reaper is cool but Cubase is a staple. So get it for free and learn it.
For those having trouble authorizing follow the instructions very carefully. It works.
