What's happenin family? Does anyone know if it's possible to time stretch your chops when using the FPC? I've been trying to figure out how to do this for quite some time now, and it's been really pissing me off. If the FPC is incapable of time stretching your chops, it's mad bootleg cause u oughta be able to utilize time stretching with any mpc-like device.
Without a time stretching feature for your chops, you're restricted to setting the tempo of the sequences that you create with them to somewhere near the original tempo of the chops if you want the chops to sync up with each other. If u set the tempo of the sequences that u create with the chops to a tempo that's not near the original tempo of the chops, the chops either won't play all the way through from one chop to the next (that's if u set the tempo of the sequences too far down from the orginal tempo of the chops) or they'll cut each other off without playing all the way through (that's if u set the tempo of the sequences too far up from the original tempo of the chops). Also, without a time stretching feature, you're unable to change the pitch of the chops without changing the tempo of them, and that just plain sux balls. (I hope that this paragraph isn't too technical for y'all. If you know something about choppin, u oughta have some idea of what I'm talkin about)
I'm quite sure that other people have noticed this as well, but just haven't taken the time out to mention it. If Imagine-Line doesn't have a timestretching feature connected to the FPC, they really deserve to be shot cause this just shouldn't be, especially with there being hip-hop heads out there who use their program and like to do a lot of choppin, and more specifically, like to munipulate their chops by changin their tempos and their pitch.
I have a Fantom X, and it's pads work very similar to the FPC, but when u load your chops into the Fantom's pads, they're capable of being time stretched without a single problem. The only thing that I dislike about the Fantom is the work flow; it's extremely too slow (which is why I'm about to get rid of it), but the features are great. If I could have the time stretching feature of the Fantom X connected to the FPC, I'd be in business.
