I just talked to the Chief Technical Officer of Music Computing. I'll be giving the CEO a call this afternoon. Trust me when I tell y'all...IT'S GOIN DOWN!!
Aren't current faders and knobs designed for mouse use? Can't see how that will work very well unless they have another touch refined layer on top the DAW
That's exactly the type of thing I"m talking about. Those who have or have used iPhones know how sensitive they are, and how it's easily the best touch screen interface on the market, just because of how reactive it is to all kinds of touch.
That's what I'm envisioning.

Same here. Price aside, I never saw the fascination of having a "moving picture" of something that already exists. With software, tweaking is limited to how much they program, and how good your mouse is. In reason, no matter what you do, you can only move a knob/fader .1 at a time. With a real knob and fader, you can basically move it anywhere you want within the range from -such and such dB, to whatever the max is. I'd be pissed off trying to "turn" a flat knob with 1 finger. And theres the whole analog vs. digital sound debate, but thats for another thread.
Seeing the Statue of Liberty for real and going there in GTA IV is totally different. Basic analogy.
It's about the show...for the clients...not so much about better functionality.
If my studio looks like some shit you'd see on star trek, then clients will come, just because they THINK it's more hi-tech than anyone elses studio.
Business is all about image.

Those look niiiiiiiiice...
DUDE...I've only played with them for about 20 minutes...and they ARE NICE!!!
I took everything off of my signal chain...and i put the vocal plugin on my master vocal bus...and it was like POW!!!! Then I played with a few pre-sets, and they were GREAT!! Played with a few of the sliders, and it was like WHOA!!
These things are really intuitive. Like there's a slider that says PRESENCE. And when u slide it up and down, and really does give your vocals PRESENCE!
These things seem like they are eq's and compressors, and other things all rolled up into one. So you don't have to know all the technical mumbo-jumbo in order to use these to get your vocals to sound good.
I'm gonna use them to mix the song that me and Keenan West juts finished. I'm excited about how it's gonna come out!
And anyone who has an iLok, Waves will let you try ANY of their products for 7 days...FULL VERSIONS!! It's on their website, and all you have to do is download them!
