I can pretty much guarantee that nothing will be at the $300 price point.

You can't barely get a decent VST or sound library for $300.

VI ONE...$100. And it's great!.

Idk why I said that not tryin to prove anything just wanted tos ay that.

Hey J.Troup Do you know if they will have a 88 key version with weighted keys.

Yes I do know...and I can't say.

I'm contractually bound not to release any more information than what is already public knowledge...

aka i can't reveal any insider information.

DAMN DAAMN DAAAAMN!!!!!!! LOL!!

the fact the Open Labs were not compatible with mac's and none of the models had weighted keys was the ONLY reason i never got a neko or miko. From what heard this new thing works with macs. I just need the weighted keys.

I'll tell you, I'm particularly interested in that 42", multi touch, LED display. I've always dreamed of having a VIRTUAL CONSOLE, like on some Star Trek shit. Like instead of a board or a console, I just have a FLAT SCREEN, and control all the faders and knobs with my fingers.

Imagine, a 42" IPHONE SCREEN with you daw, your faders, your knobs, etc.

OMG...i'm about to fap just thinking about it.

You basically have an unlimited amount of faders and knobs then correct? If they do it right at least and give you like "pages" or something that have more faders and more knobs...

All i'm talking about is a multi touch monitor, that is actually big enough and easy enough to use with your DAW'S mixer. Doesn't even have to be something proprietary.

Just like i got my Cubase mixer up on my 42" LCD, have it on that touch screen, and actually use it.

Man...if I can test one out, I'd definitely buy that joint. People would come to the studio just to SEE that joint!

^^^It would piss me off after 3 days of usin it. I like bangin out drums, playin the keys, but usin a mouse to mix is cool with me.

It's not to replace your pads and ivory keys...it's to replace the mouse.

If i wanna move 4 faders at the same time with a mouse, I gotta select them, link them, then move them. With a multi touch console, I can just put 4 fingers on each fader, and move them, just like I would a physical console.

They have the technology....if I die I'm going on record saying I want to come back as the 6 Million Dollar Producer....just snap my finger and voila! Top 40 Hit Nicca!

I'm sure somebody'll make a crack for that though....

^^^Your gonna definatly have to tell me how those are because I'm skeptical about any of that "attach a persona to a product" and it doesn't help that JJP Drums, and JJP Guitars are some of the plugs because that just seems real generic. What are they just eq and compression?

I know, guess I didn't word it well. I just don't want it to replace the mouse.

It is a cool idea in theory but it would be to sensitive or not sensitive enough and we all know that touch screens SUCK unless implemented right.

I just don't think it would be so easy. Many a times have I had to make an adjustment from -2.5 to -2.1 and it just seems like a touchscreen would be horrible for that.

Aren't current faders and knobs designed for mouse use? Can't see how that will work very well unless they have another touch refined layer on top the DAW

"virtual console" pretty much defeats the purpose of a console for me.

Same here. Price aside, I never saw the fascination of having a "moving picture" of something that already exists. With software, tweaking is limited to how much they program, and how good your mouse is. In reason, no matter what you do, you can only move a knob/fader .1 at a time. With a real knob and fader, you can basically move it anywhere you want within the range from -such and such dB, to whatever the max is. I'd be pissed off trying to "turn" a flat knob with 1 finger. And theres the whole analog vs. digital sound debate, but thats for another thread.

Seeing the Statue of Liberty for real and going there in GTA IV is totally different. Basic analogy.

I just talked to the Chief Technical Officer of Music Computing. I'll be giving the CEO a call this afternoon. Trust me when I tell y'all...IT'S GOIN DOWN!!

That's exactly the type of thing I"m talking about. Those who have or have used iPhones know how sensitive they are, and how it's easily the best touch screen interface on the market, just because of how reactive it is to all kinds of touch.

That's what I'm envisioning.

It's about the show...for the clients...not so much about better functionality.

If my studio looks like some shit you'd see on star trek, then clients will come, just because they THINK it's more hi-tech than anyone elses studio.

Business is all about image. :)

Those look niiiiiiiiice...

DUDE...I've only played with them for about 20 minutes...and they ARE NICE!!!

I took everything off of my signal chain...and i put the vocal plugin on my master vocal bus...and it was like POW!!!! Then I played with a few pre-sets, and they were GREAT!! Played with a few of the sliders, and it was like WHOA!!

These things are really intuitive. Like there's a slider that says PRESENCE. And when u slide it up and down, and really does give your vocals PRESENCE!

These things seem like they are eq's and compressors, and other things all rolled up into one. So you don't have to know all the technical mumbo-jumbo in order to use these to get your vocals to sound good.

I'm gonna use them to mix the song that me and Keenan West juts finished. I'm excited about how it's gonna come out!

And anyone who has an iLok, Waves will let you try ANY of their products for 7 days...FULL VERSIONS!! It's on their website, and all you have to do is download them!
