Foam Acoustic Tiles placement

Hi

I plan to buy a room set of acoustic panels 30x30cm (absorbers) and bass traps for my home studio and I have a couple of questions
a. on my left side wall and in the same hight as my left monitor i ve got a desk with a modular synth, rack fx etc. Do I have to place the tiles on the back of the machines
and how this will affect the acoustics.

b. on the right side there is my bedroom closet (top to bottom, left to right) I guess I am placing the tiles on the closet doors and not inside cause as far as I know closets
work as a resonator.

3 Key areas (+ possibly 1):
-Behind the monitors
-Behind your seating position
-Left and right side of you, roughly equal distance from you and the monitors also known as the angle of first reflection.
- (+1 if you have non-carpet flooring, Placing panels above you will also help)

Note that there will always be obstacles that prevent you from this ideal arrangement, such as your rack and you will just need to learn the sound of your room and how to compensate.

Also don't feel the urge to use all your panels as you may over deaden the room, Someone once said placing panels is not about killing frequencies but rather controlling them.
