Well, Try installing the DXI version. it doesnt seem to have that problem.

OR, While looking @ the Edirol Panel, Click the "SYSTEM" Button, then click the "FILE" Tab. then go to the "performance"
section and click "SAVE". Give it the same name as as ur FL Project. when you reload just repeat the steps and load the Performance file.

maybe you are using the demo-plugins. DX-10,WASP,SoundfontPlayer,SimSynth and DrumSynth are only demos, you can use them, tweak them, but after saving they are resetted.

There is a quicker way, but the logic is probably the same.

1. Channels > Add One > Orchestral (as usual to add a VST).

2. At the top-right in the Edirol Fruity wrapper, click the little down arrow and Enable Multiple Outputs.

3. Right click on the channel > Clone Channel. Rename it.

4. On Edirol Instrument 1, change the instrument.

You can have as many instruments as your machine can take, before blowing up this way :)

And I've learnt something too,
Thanks for bringing this one up.

You guys started doing it the hard way.:D

Here's the trick.

You guys already know how to add the vsti/dxi, set the port, etc...

Usually, I just set the vsti to port 0 and the midi outs usually default to this anyways. So then I add a midi out generator and it's ready to go.

The next thing is that you have to set the bank and patch.

If you look to the left of an instrument name, there's something that will look like this:

P-5
001

This for example corresponds to the Concert piano patch. In the FL midi out generator, set the bank value (the second box in this case) to 5. In this case the general midi channel corresponds to a piano but ignore those names and choose whatever the lower number is next to the orchestral patch (001), in this case that would be 1.

If you wanted the "full strings" patch:

p-0
031

Set the bank number to 0 and the patch number to 31. Again, this is not set in the first, but the second bank box. And then set the patch number to 31. General midi corresponds to a distorted guitar but again, ignore that.

This way, every time you open your project you are working on, the instruments will load up as they should.

i have this same problem and it pisses me off...but edirol plugins are "tied" with cubase and it works perfectly with cubase, each instrument a track...but my cubase isnt working :(
