ah i c

alrite here goes i purchased the dj 2000 for the very same reasons as u -- for it to be the control center for MIDI implementation. the sound and build quality of the mixer is fantastic. the eq seperation is out of this world .
the eqs on the channel go down to -16 db which is not a lot frankly but the speration makes up for the not so deep cut.
every channel has a simplified VU indication in a form of a green LED . this led is line interactive as in depending on line signal level the led glows brighter or dimmer. it also blinks with the beat pattern and i use it to help me match beats perfectly . u can get pretty good at it. now i can match beats without using headphones !!
the issolator on the mixer is really phat ! u can use the issolator in conjunction with the grab switch to throw in some really phunky vartiations !
i know ur waiting for me to get to the DSP and midi capabilites.....

ill get to that part soon enough
now commin to the cueing section of the mixer. its all very well laid out. it must be noted that the headphone amp on this mixer is really HOT !
what most ppl forget about here is how u can route ur headphone channle to the sampler.... yes u read it right. the mixer has a seperate sampler out and u can punch in a signal directly into the sampler regardless of channel fader level by selecting the appropriate channel ion ur headphone section pretty nifty if u ask me
the corssfader is no good for scratchin but u can get the special crossfader for that. the transform buttons are really awesome they make for some radical transform scratches !
ok DSP time the dsp is the phattest little dsp ive ever come across everything from ear shattering filters to a suttle delay to a phat flange to a professional auto pan.
my fav part of the dsp is the filter. it has to be the phattest filter ever ! its so radical that i dont use the eqs on the channels anymore ! the flanger is a very understated part of the DSP it allows u to throw some rockin modulations to ur programme.
the auto pan i dont use much but im pretty sure it would be very usefull for a full blown setup.
the slicer function is another very underplayed part of the DSP. i use it all the time and u can create some really funky effects on vocal breakdowns !
its a simplified gate and u can BPM sync it to the music to create atmospheric build ups !
im not going to go deep into the dsp function cause i can just go on and on and on........ do remember that the effects can be BPM latched and can be set to come into effect with a set time signature.
u can also bend the dsp effect in relation to bpm to match the wow and flutter of ur tts . that way u can keep them playing synced .
now to the MIDI part of the mixer . the mixer allows u to send midi start / stop messages along with a BPM read out to aid u to sync ur tts or cd players to external sound modules etc..... now most ppl who try a midi sync with vinyl or cds face the problem of signals drifting due to wow and flutter of the medium... with the dj 2000 u dont have to be worried about that. u can push and pull ur midi signal to keep it in sync with the rest of the programme material. think of it as a pitch bend for MIDI its really rad
anyway thats the bit for now. tell me if i can help u in any way
