yo i got plenty tracks to submit or watever for this....but i would like to be part of the ones that select the songs for the mixtape....as far as getting the mixtape on websites, i can do that too...and watever else i can do, i will try to....jus lemme kno wassup wit this, cuz i remember the Future of Hip Hop 2 that was supposed to go down....i was really tryin to get on it, but now here is another chance to do a FP mixtape, and i think it could definately come out hot, especially becuase there are some members now with more connections than the members that tried to put together the first mixtape

What tracks you using for the mixtape?

I could make a song where Im talkin about the industry but not getting too specific like naming names. I would be try to find a balance between the industry and FP and it would be a meaningful, well thought out piece of work.

I could scan the posts for ideas,..maybe some of the funny ass posts about how the industry sucks, (if you guys wanted to) because I know that your goal might be to actually be in the "industry someday so I dont think it would be a good idea to totally diss EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY in the industry.

We would need some kind poll or idea thread for the mixtape to see how the average fp'er feels about the Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B situation right now and what they think is most important when creating the mixtape and then build off that to get a solid concept to make a hard-hittng, orignal mixtape that will catch everybodys attention. It will be hot on the internet...I know that for sure, but what if this really blew up?!

I think it should feature the most active fp members seeing that they care about it more but this is just an idea. Id like to see some of the hungriest cats with thier best work. We could have a vote after all the work is submitted to see who's got what it takes.

BTW im feelin the turn off the radio concept cover,...those other covers were ugly.

the mixtape definately needs a direction as far as the style of music...whether its east coast, southern, west coast or watever...but i also feel that it should have a variety of songs...but the cd shouldnt just be all over the place and not tie in together well

i dont think it should be just for the most active members...it should be about the hottest tracks...because we are promotin the best of FP, not promotin individual members....so anybody can submit tracks...and post count or status aint gon matter....but i think we should set up a soundclick page wit some REALLY random name so nobody finds it....and then we upload all the possible tracks to the soundclick page and we vote

and when i say "we" i mean whoever is chosen to be in charge of the project

if you want to do that someone could get forums hosted somewhere like cjb.net and post all the tracks on rs and have a poll for each one

Just my suggestions . . .

- FREE
(I feel this can turn quite a few heads and if it is free it will absoulutley gain alot more attetion and gain more listeners . . . and this should be for promoton anyway not profit . . . Just my opinion)

- Direction
(Their can be a variety of tracks not just one style but their has to be some sort of direction . . . and flow to the track listing . . . I hoe this is not going to turn into an "against/anti industry cd)

- Good Music or "Good Music"
(Are we looking for good produced songs beat wise and lyric wise no matter what the content is i.e guns & etc . . . or are we looking for "Good Music" ala Kanye, Mos Def, Talib, etc . . . I think this needs to be settled cause theirs alot of difference on opinion of good music in terms of content of a song)

- Serious name
(I'd say leave it self titled "Future Producers" . . . it sounds respectable, professional, and represents all of us)

- Full songs
(Alot of listners aren't just going to want to hear beats . . . It shouldn't be a beat cd it should be a full producer cd with completed songs)

- Good quality (recording/mixing)
(Can speak for itself . . . We all know what acceptable quality and whast not . . . No $10.00 mic recordings or bad mixes)

- Serious cover artwork
(If this is going to be taken seriously as Future Producers project I say it should have a serious and proffesional look too it and not a parody look)

- Proper plan and promotion
(The members chosen to direct the project would handle this and let everyone know whast going on)

- Select trusted members to direct project

- Tracks selected by the members directing
(Not alot of people vote will vote most likely . . . . Take the battle section for example . . . I think this way is better . . . The members who are chosen I am sure will make proper choices)

Thanks but . . . I am curently focused on other projects and I don't have the time to dedicate to this project . . .

I feel that the veteran members of the forum (we know who mot of them are) would be better suite to run this but that is up to them . . . I would understand why if they did not want to run this either though . . .

I think we need to ask Mano about this. We can't market as an official Future Producer's mixtape without his permission remember.

I can help with copyrights and reg's. I work at ASCAP and am willing to take care of the performance royalty end. I'm willing to be a part of this if people are willing to motivate.

If you work at ASCAP then you know that there are no royalties without a publisher. Is there a possibility that you also find a publisher for this compilation?

- NOT FREE
Well.. anyone who wants to participate must pay the initial sum to get on the CD. the collected sum will be used for professional CD duplication, cover prinitng and plastic wrapping. I'm talking about $15-30 per producer.

Retail price should be minimised (6-7 bucks) and producers should get their own copies at a discount price of $2 per Cd. Later they can sell it for a larger margin if they want to.

- Serious name
Future of hip hop vol 2. (just my input, don't hate on me)
;) ;)

- Full songs
yup

- Good quality (recording/mixing)
agree

- Good cover artwork (not 5 min ms paint work)
agree

- Proper plan and promotion
not even thinking of participating without it.

- Select trusted members to direct project
you need the prooven guys: st3, tech, stkee phlo, jos, jtrax, remixmiami, nfx..... if they don't want to continue doing this then at least read their posts concerning our last mixtape wich went pretty well and smooth.

I don't want to participate in organization, i will just bless the cd with a great song like i usually do.

On the train this morning, I came up with the NGP(Next Generation of Producers) or FPA(Future Producers Association)*Note-not in association with futureproducers.com, unless mano approves*

This is not the name of the mixtape, rather the name of our organization. I see big things with this if we stay on track. Big ups to everyone for throwing in their input!

It will consist of mainly FP members but does not have to be in affiliation with FP. Kinda like the Future of Hip Hop mixtape.

that's kinda hot, I know the last tape fizzled because of bad song selection, i think the judges must have a broad spectrum of hip hop that they like, so that is it is diverse, and showcases FP, but at the same time cohesive

I'd also suggest a division of power, people to pick the songs, people to mix the album, people ensuring pressing, people on marketing

I'd be down for song selection

Hopefully this doesn't fizzle out because it's a really good idea with all the talent here. I'd love to contribute but my damn computer shut off and didn't come back on last week...so hopefully everyones still enthusiastic about this when i replace it.

I nominate myself to be one of the members who has a say in which song are selected. I feel that I generally have a good ear for music and what sounds good.

I also think Cappachino and OsamaPigLatin would be good judges.

And there needs to be rules for the judges, when they are chosen. As you obviously can't have members having the power to decide whether their OWN tracks feature on the CD!

The idea sounds great. If this idea makes it all the way into an actual product, I'll be happy to donate cover artwork. You don't have to use it if you don't want to, but I'll come up with something. I'll also have tracks to submit of course.

Yes, the mixtape should be FULL songs, not just beats.

Good luck guys, hope everything works out with this. I'm down to help out in any way that I can.

I want to submit a full song.

... I didn't read the thread yet but I'm down.

I like the bump it or dump it concept. Don't just put people on the CD because you're cool with 'em.

My ish is gon bang. It's called "When you go to jail..." an educational tool for the young uns...
