Simon Cowell is fuming as a song written for Leona Lewis was given to Beyonce for her 'I Am Sasha Fierce' album, say reports.
The track is called 'Halo' and was penned by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder - who co-wrote Leona's smash single 'Bleeding Love' with Jesse McCartney.
Insiders claim Cowell and Tedder had agreed to let Lewis sing the song for her second album, expected in 2009, but the R&B star has since recorded it for herself.
"Leona's diary is so rammed it didn't look like she could record it until next year." A source at SonyBMG is quoted as saying. "Ryan didn't want to hang around so he gave it to Beyonce".

This album is filled with controversy. I just hope with the amount of controversy this album has Beyonce hopefully delivers great music to her fans.

Ryan Tedder's song is a guranteed hit with me. I like the way he writes with passion and its very evident in his songs

To me this album is not good. Seems like she really like that lil wayne amili track she made her own called "diva". Again this is just my thought.

^That was a wack ass reason.
This happens all the time but people DONT talk about it.Ok it was written for Leona Lewis sexy ass, ***** cant record til next year and buddy wanna get paid. Its a business, keep it moving. Dont nothing matter but the money.

I though B was going to get more personal with this album by writing her own lyrics?

I guess, I'd read wrong???

Bey is so wack for this album

She wants to be Leona HARD!

It's damn near embarrassing.

Only two hits are Radio which is still questionable

And Sweet Dreams which is FIRE

Personally I think she is just trying to stay hip with the young crowd and she notices that the young crowd is into Ciara, and Leona so that is what her records are going to come out sounding like

wasn't really stealing, if i was in ryan tedder's position i would have done the same

what if he had kept it for leona and it didnt end up making the album, he would been screwed out of a lot of dough

you snooze you lose

lol @ Beyonce wanting to be Leona.

She's way more successful being Beyonce who's sold around 100 million albums worldwide, rich as f**k, and married to arguably the biggest hip hop mogul.

Why want to give all that up to be what she was 10 years ago starting?

People put too much weight on the artist in these situations. Beyonce has nothing to do with this, she just recorded the damn song.

^ lol, I thought I was in the twilight zone ... I aint heard much of anything from Leona, but my first impression is that shes a balladeer, and Beyonce is tryna be a ghettoer version of Mary J., tryna fit in with the South taking over, and not really being about belting it out anymore ... and its definitely on Ryan Tedder, not Beyonce, I can sympathize with Simon Cowell being mad that he kinda got ganked, but as a producer myself, you cant just be sitting on your music, I'm in a situation with that right now, I submitted a beat to one artist for his album at the last minute, he never responded and put his album out about a week afterwards, thats a no to me lol, so when another artist I had waiting came knocking, I passed him that same beat, he loved it, but he didnt wanna use samples, I suppose he thought it was just a vocal sample, but its a sample based track, loops and drums, so it was gonna have to be redone, and as his goal is to avoid paying clearance, its gonna have to be a different song altogether, so when that first artist got back to me with the song he recorded to that beat, I rolled with it, cause the second artist isn't using THAT beat, and if his beat is gonna be different enough to not be paying for a sample, it aint the same beat, needless to say, that 2nd artist is feeling like Simon Cowell, but neither one of them paid me so its not like I ran off with somebodys cash, dude tried to say how he put so much effort writing the song and what is he gonna do now, I had to throw that right back at him and say, I made that beat that I loved and you aint gonna use it, I'm supposed to just let that stay in the Scrooge McDuck vault? nah son

Co-Sign. This happens all the time, songwriters write a song for a specific artist, circumstances arise, songwriter gives it to another artist.

Case in point The Dream and Chris Brown situation.

for real... except i disagree with the "ghettoer mary J" part.

I don't even know why Beyonce is releasing another album.
She doesn't need anymore money, and doesn't have anything new to offer.
That "Diva" track is hands-down the worst record of the year and even "It's Cold In The D" is better.

The rest of the songs are nothing special too.

Halo is a dope song. The reason why Ryan gave it to her is probably because she is Beyonce lol. It's pretty much a no-brainer.

Ryan would have gave it to 50 cent if he offered Beyonce money. Songwriters don't really get too picky, business is business.

dam...well thas 2bad...simon should be mad at leona if anything..it was her fault for not recording it

i wish i had that dilemma...oh sorry chris brown this track is for usher.
