Hi. I'm a long-time lurker, first-time poster. Thought I'd post something here since there seems to be very little information about the Behringer BCF available.
I got mine yesterday and have to say that its pretty impressive for the money. And whats more, getting it up and running with Pro Tools was a walk in the park - less than 20 minutes from opening the box!
I'm running LE 6.1 on OS X 10.2, but I see no reason why this procedure would not be at least similar for other versions.
Firstly, you need to get the 1.05 and 1.06 firmware updates from the Behringer website and install them - they're sysex files, so just dump them to the BCF.
Then Select
Baby HUI emulation mode (power off and then on again whilst holding down the appropriate button - detailed in the PDF file).
Start Pro Tools, open the Peripherals setup box, click the MIDI controllers tab and select "HUI" transmitting and receiving on BCF Port 1 with 8 channels.
That's it! Open a session file and you're away. No learning or programming and the functionality in emulation mode is pretty good - solo, mute, pan, volume for 4 groups of 8 tracks plus transport control (and some other stuff via the "Encoder Groups" buttons that I haven't got to grips with yet - possibly control of plugins???)
Hope this is of help to anyone considering buying a BCF - so far it's proving to be a great bit of kit.
Mat
