any one know if the BCF2000 will work with
protools? i havent been able to find any info on Behringers website. they say "in Cubase®, Cakewalk®, Logic Audio® and other major audio software."

Hmmm ... you can download the whole manual on Behringer's site.

It seems like the Behringer MIDI-control stuff can be programmed to do almost anything ... so it's more a matter what ProTools accepts.

I've only been able to use mine with Reason so far. Since it's fully programmable, yes, you can use it with Pro Tools but you'll have quite a bit of programming to do. Will probably take an hour or so. Behringer is coming up with some Pro Tools presets according to the rep I spoke with today.

Hi. I'm a long-time lurker, first-time poster. Thought I'd post something here since there seems to be very little information about the Behringer BCF available.

I got mine yesterday and have to say that its pretty impressive for the money. And whats more, getting it up and running with Pro Tools was a walk in the park - less than 20 minutes from opening the box!

I'm running LE 6.1 on OS X 10.2, but I see no reason why this procedure would not be at least similar for other versions.

Firstly, you need to get the 1.05 and 1.06 firmware updates from the Behringer website and install them - they're sysex files, so just dump them to the BCF.

Then Select Baby HUI emulation mode (power off and then on again whilst holding down the appropriate button - detailed in the PDF file).

Start Pro Tools, open the Peripherals setup box, click the MIDI controllers tab and select "HUI" transmitting and receiving on BCF Port 1 with 8 channels.

That's it! Open a session file and you're away. No learning or programming and the functionality in emulation mode is pretty good - solo, mute, pan, volume for 4 groups of 8 tracks plus transport control (and some other stuff via the "Encoder Groups" buttons that I haven't got to grips with yet - possibly control of plugins???)

Hope this is of help to anyone considering buying a BCF - so far it's proving to be a great bit of kit.

(Who doesn't work for Behringer!)

most likely it will work with protools....if it work with logic audio i think it will work with protools

i just started using my bcr2000 wth reason not as easy to program as ableton can not seem to just pick what i want to control and assign a knob.

I am having problems getting protools to run HUI mode with BCF2000. I am running protools LE 6.4 on OS X 10.3.3 and have latest firmware (v1.07) for
BCF2000.
Protools recognizes the BCF2000, but...

1. I start BCF in BHUI mode
2. Start protools
3. Go to MIDI Controlers
4. "no choice for HUI mode only none or control8

Someone please help I cant find anything wrong with my setup. Everything seems in place. Please help thx

I think there's a firmware update for the BCF, have you tried that? The Behringer site should have a good amount of additional info on this.

hey peoples,
Still having problems. I loaded the Legacy drivers for PT 6.4 thats supposed to have support for HUI but I still dont get an option for HUI as a MIDI Controler. So I called Behringer and the only thing he told me was that in "Edit MIDI Studio" I should use HUI as the manufacturer. What the... I'm trying very hard not to shoot the mac and the bcf. Someone please help. Does anyone use PT 6.4 on OS X with bcf.
hmmmmm!

where did you get yours from? If you got it from a shop they should be able to tell you how to use it.

Yeah, I finally got the thing working. I had downloaded the wrong files from digidesign. Simple:P
Now I can eat and sleap again and start actually making music again. I will now leave the studio and take a shower. Anybody know any good vitamins for the malnurished and sleep deprived.

no2little, can you please tell me exactly what hui-file you downloaded from digidesign?

I have ProTools 6.4, digi001, a pc and have just bought the bcf2000. It is set to "Mackie Control Mode" and in protools I have chosen HUI, but doesn't work!!:( Nothing happens... It works fine with Cubase SX2. I have tryed with both USB and midi-cables. Help!!
