im confused on what they exactly do
do they improve your exported sound cause right now my exported sound does not sound like what i created
 
An interface is the connection point between the computer and your world of microphones and speakers and instruments

Your exported files are not processed by the interface but by the cpu of your computer - so if there are issues with the exported audio vs the internal audio (of your daw) the problem probably lies in one of 2 places:

your daws export settings - check them you might get a surprise along the lines of the export quality is so low it is useless
your player for playback settings - again check these as you might get a surprise - the eq may skewed, it may be applying a normalise routine before playback,
