Are auralex x11 studio foam panels Reflectors or Absorbers?

I can't find a clear answer on this. All the description says is that it treats "Harsh reflections"

I was going to put them on my first reflections but now I think that they might make my room dead.

these are absorbers for the most part

the whole point of treating first reflections is to minimise reverb build-up and resonant peaks in the room - they are traditionally treated as points of absorption and diffusion

Short of making your own custom diffusion panels, this is step one in treating the room

If I weren't planning on staying the house for more than a year, could I use those until I move out to a university with a studio?
