Your crazy. Dude said the song is worse than soulja boy. Wow

The thing is that I don't think Busta meant anything in a malicious / degrading way. Maybe he didn't know what the hell he was saying.

Nobody ask Fat Joe to apologize for saying "nigga" all the time.

no it's not... they just use alot of islamic terminology, but they whole ideology is totally different. even most 5%ers stopped calling themselves muslims years ago.

in islam the greatest sin u can commit is creating partners with god, or putting u'r faith in someone/something other than god. we don't even joke around and call someone a god or goddess just out of respect.

5% say that they are "gods." that is the absolute worst thing u can do in a muslims eyes.

check this out from wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nation_of_gods_and_earths
Comparison to mainstream Islam

While the Nation of Gods and Earths uses terms that are similar to those used by traditional Muslims, the Five Percenters and traditional Muslims have very little in common. Authors have labeled the Five Percenters as an Islamic group because of its origins from within the Nation of Islam, the terms it uses, and because of its practice of not eating pork. However, it does not follow the restrictive laws of the NOI nor does it follow traditional Islamic teachings based on the laws written in the Qur'an or prophet Muhammad's Sunnah. The Five-Percent rebuttal to this has been that it is not a religious movement, and that as self-proclaimed gods themselves, the only one they must submit to is "self". In traditional Islam, this is considered a heretical, blasphemous concept and a violation of the most basic Islamic tenets, since it is considered a grave sin to associate any human being or object with God. The official stance of the Five Percenters is that they are not Muslims, nor are they bound to any religious laws. However, it is to be noted that many 5 percenters immerse themselves in Islamic culture as with many other religious cultures.
Furthermore, the Five Percenters, in referring to themselves as Supreme Beings, point out that most, if not all, ancient scriptures allude to the anthropomorphic qualities of the gods of different religions, and that religious teachings over time have strayed away from this concept. The Five Percenters use ancient teachings that predate monotheistic religions to verify their deity status. Another defense for not adhering to modern day religion is their claim that the teachings of all major prophets have been distorted over time, whether by translation into new languages or by intentional tampering. This can produce bigotry and zealotry in well-meaning believers. Thus, according to the Nation of Gods and Earths, it is better to study as many different religions and cultures as possible, to find the common truths in them, rather than focusing on the differences between them. This way, one finds his or her unique and most productive path to the Knowledge of Self.

Yea for sure. No one sayin he was meanin to be degradin or malicious. But certain things do offend ppl cuz tha action itself is offensive (quotin Quran in a song, especially one that is contradictory to tha messages of the Quran). Busta doesn't hav to apologize - just it to b clear that he can do a funny song bout Arabs or acknowledge love for the culture in a different manner.

I don't see nethin wrong when ppl take offense to Fat Joe or DJ Khaled droppin tha N bomb - they hav a right to b offended. But since the person who committed the offensive act did it witout a malicious intent, they should b approached wit an explanation how they have been offensive n their actions r inappropriate from a friend to friend standpoint, especially since ppl r fans of these artists - rather than get angry n flip out. When ur friend offends u, u just let em know that wat they did ain't right - u ain't gotta go haywire on that ass, haha...

The prince of saudi arabia had a birthday party the other night in hollywood. He LOVES the song. He had the dj play it so much I was tired of the **** by the end of the night. Also he had akon and sean kingston perform. Everybody is going to have mixed feelings. I know a lot of middle eastern people...they look at the song as a tribute to their wealth.

So its oky for me to do a song saying how americans are fast food eating cant-find-my-own-country-on-a-map type of folk because...

there are plenty of people who are basically all of those things.

right?

LOL!!!

(actually wondering if this will ironically stir up more trouble then the original matter at hand....)

but umm u have to know that a small, too rich to care about anything minority does not bring any real validity to the song right??.. I mean why are we even still discussing whether or not it's offensive and disrespectful? we should be way past that, of course it is. some of you have no grasp on reality

Lol whether or not he meant to be disrespectful means nothing. The folks have spoken and they don't like it one bit. I personally think the song should get pulled. The Execs knew what they were doing and Busta is their puppet.. They wanted that controversy.

When i think about it. I think about how i would feel as a black person to have a song portray something about me. And to have a bunch of non-white people using stereotypical "black" language would be offensive to me.

Even if they were saying "We ROCKIN BLACK MAN JEWLEREY"....... dats offensive becuase it makes it seem like we all wear those rediculous jewlery pieces. Now of course black folks who actually wear dat may take that as a compliment. But switch it back to arab culture...... ALOT of people in da middle east are in harsh conditions. So its a slap in da face to act as if all arab people are banking off oil. OF COURSE a privelaged Saudi business man might take at it as a compliment cuz he's actually da one promoting that stereotype.......

But i understand Busta might not have meant it as a diss but if he were to turn it around and look at it from a black perspective it may have been apparent. Im glad they could work it out though

I don't watch BET or MTV really...is this a big deal elsewhere? Is this really getting that much pub?

5% is just as much a sect of Islam as Mormonism is a sect of Christianity. That is a somewhat imperfect comparison as 5% is pretty far from Islam, but it'll do.

The real association that 5% has to do with Islam is that it is based off of The Nation of Islam, which is religion that is already based off Islam. Basically, 5% based off a religion that is based off Islam.

People complain about everything..**** it. A lot of niggas on FP complain about everything...

Freedom of speech. I spoke my piece about the middle eastern folks that I hang around with, and I gave you their perspective on the song. I don't like the song at all. Im talking about real people who I shake hands with..thats reality.
