I have started other threads about DJ Paul & Juicy J on this board, but I have to give credit where it's due. In the oversaturated hip hop market I have to give props to the artists that stick to their guns and do what they do. These guys just kill me with each new release. I was just listening to the new Lil' Wyte album "The One and Only" and I'm not a particular fan of Lil' Wyte and his whole style, but Paul and Juicy killed several tracks on this one. Specifically "It's On" and "Choppa on Da Back Seat." They're just really great at the whole southern sound. The synths are great, they sample, they're drums are great, the bass is always unbelievable.
My questions is this. Who does what out of the two of them? I listened to both their solo albums: DJ Paul's "Vol.16 For Da Summa" (2002) and Juicy J's "Chronicles of the Juice Mane" (2002). I thought I might get the answer listening to their two different styles, but I'm still left wondering. It seems like Juicy J might be bigger on sampling, while DJ Paul is more into using keyboards and that kind of thing. Once I found out DJ Paul has one short arm, I had to question their technique even more. Does the Juice Man play keyboards? Their's just a lot of mystery surrounding their production. I haven't seen any videos of them making beats. There are some clips of them on "Adventures In Hollyhood", but I've got to know. Any insight on this would be appreciated.
