Adding sustain pedal only on the left hand (piano)?

Hello,

I am working with MIDI files using Imperfect Samples Fazioli piano vst. Some classical music. I am thinking about adding the sustain pedal only on the left hand (so two midi tracks for each hand). Is this technique ussual or it's better to have the sustain pedal on all notes to make it sound more natural?
What are your thought about this technique?

it depends on what you are trying to achieve

using a sustain pedal on a track with a lot of different notes will lead to a very mushy sound, which may be the desired sound or not

i.e. your musical vision determines what tools and processes you use to achieve it
