that's the worst list i have ever seen in my life.

Remember people this question was the most influential NOT your 20 favorite rappers so J-heat your list is way off hommie you listed some greats (including Young Buck) but to be one of the most influential artists in a genre where people sell tens of millions over there career and are international celebrities Buck don't make the cut i am 2 hours away from Chi and most niccas here don't even know him.

this list isn't really in order it's just the order i thought of them

Tupac

Biggie

Run DMC (they had everyone lacine up new kicks)

E40 (his terminology from a decade ago is still being used. although his largest accomplishment with this terminolgy he didn't get credit for i still put him on instead of snoop because he influenced 1 more person then soop did with the "izzle" talk, Snoop)

Cash Money as a group

LL Cool J (yall know LL had yall liken your lips in front of girls dont front)

Wu Tang

DMX

Eminem

Jay Z (to create clothing lines that have been as successful as there is amazine peroid. But to do it not because of a independent marketing stratagy or just being business savy but perdomentaly by there fame as a rapper shows true influence over the way hiphop dresses)

Puffy (ditto)

MC Hammer (yall had parachute pants don't front)

Camron (for making yall think yall stunten in pink and girls earrings THAT shows true influence)

Public Enemy

NWA

Master P (that Moan and low budget CD's had us all wrapped up for a moment)

2 Live Crew (Sex Sells)

this generation especially those further from the east coast [including myself i listened to West coast music during this phase] doesn't fully understand the magnitude of the accomplishments first hand but allot of the influences today are a by product of these pioneers.

Rakim

Pete Rock & CL Smooth

KRS One

i agree with you 50 does have the power to be influential but right now he has yet to inspire any movement or fad that would prove him influential
IMO.

Just b/c you sell big numbers dont make someone influential unless your talkin influential in a sense of control over the selling market of music.. Buk has influenced me b/c not only does he rep chicago and actually mean it not just sayin it b/c he's from here, his style of flow (not sayin your not) but if you familiar with dramaward style you'll see what I mean. And they really talk about a place where I'm from, not just spit out stuff about bussin hollows on 63rd and Jeffrey..

LMFAO @ Cedric.. AHHH HAHAHAHA.

I don't feel like naming 20, all I know is Pac is number 1. And Scarface, Rakim, KRS, and Nas would be in the top 10.

you are completely correct just because you sell big numbers doesn't make you influential unless you are counting the number of people they influenced to purchase there music but i assumed this isn't what was being asked here just like you soundscan could answer that. The question was "UR 20 most influential" and i was thinking "(who you think)THE 20 most influential" so my bad i had the question wrong and based on what i was thinking I'm sure you can see why i thought he was a bad choice. now that i caught the real question i guess i need to start my list over lol. i guess i sounded like a real a$$ telling a nicca who influenced him lol. local artists should have the most influence cuz you should be able to relate to them best.

Blondie
Sugarhill Gang
Rakim/Eric B.
Whoodini
L.L. Cool J.
Heavy D.
Big Daddy Kane
Grandmaster Flash
Geto Boys
everyone from NWA
Ice-T
Digital Underground (i really dont care 4 them, but w/o them ,we may have never known 2Pac)
Tupac
Salt-N-Pepa
P. Diddy (when he wuz Puff Daddy)
Biggie
Lil' Kim
Missy Elliot
Left Eye
Busta Rhymes
DMX
Nelly
Ludacris

sorry...I lost count and didn't feel like takin anyone off
