Maybe to the extremely discerning ear, but I don't personally need a MPC 2000, 2000 XL, 3000, 1000, 2500, and both MV 8000 and MV 8800 all in one room. For the sake of collecting....I could see it, but for making music, I don't need that many MPCs.

exactly. but even for sonics i think part of being unique and having your sound sonically is having some limitations and having your combination of gear that is unique to you. Though nowadays everyone has everything that everyone else has

Hey Droach, I'd get you set-up out of the corner there and more towards the middle..you prob get mad bass build up.

Wow that's two totally different set ups! I like, great job. Looks like a comfy place to work being able to switch back and forth between the two styles.

Don't ask me why but this is one of my favorite threads in this entire forum.

Your studio space looks great! I especially like the window separating the booth from your rig.

Here's my humble little studio.... This was supposed to be my huge walk-in closet, but I decided to turn it into a mini studio! I'm still working on the acoustics, especially in the vocal booth. Let me know what you think!

It just interesting looking at this thread. This thread has been running for 6 years now, and the studios have transitioned from rooms filled with hardware down to a lot of folks rocking smaller computer based setups.

Lol.....thought I was the only one noticing this trend. I remember all of the software/hardware debates years ago. I swear I saw it coming. Crazy dope. Thou shallt compartmentalize and mobilize thy music production equiptment sayeth the future.

man I was looking at some of my old setup pics thinking the same thing lol. I am going to upload some updated ones in a few minutes my setup changes what seems like every 2 or 3 years

This is how I am currently working. I have a BCF2000 also but I do not have the available usb slot for it right now and have no desire to use a hub.

Yeah, I look at my setup and think how much gear I have accumulated. If i was just starting off, i probably would have a much smaller lab. Because I already have the stuff, i use it. Some has sentimental value and memories.

good shit here, gotta post more to post pics apparently

I don't hold on to gear that long. I think the only things in that pic that are more than a year old are the monitors that I got in 2008 and the turntable I got that in like 2006 everything else is sometime between 11/2011 and 11/2012. Software is a different story I don't tend to change DAWs often I stayed on Reason and Sonar for a long time. I got Live about 6 months ago and I am loving it.

RIght now, the gear I have had the longest that i still use, is my fantom XR, occasionally EMU MP-7 and the MPC 2500.
