Star One (side project of Aryeon - Space Metal)
This is symphonic metal, and is very operatic in style. Albums tell entire stories - some are movie inspired. Fun stuff - sweet synths!

yeah, pagan/folk metal has some great bands indeed. Wintersun, Korpiklaani, Eluveitie, Ensiferum... I also like Cadacross, Finntroll, Arkona, Cruachan...

Some of my fav metalcore bands or "metal" if you will are: The Devil Wears Prada, Underoath, Oh Sleeper, and even though their not really metal I dig Dance Gavin Dance and Every Time I Die.

If I remember correctly Nergal is out of the hospital and in much better health. I think they're working on new music and doing shows again.
