This is the most fun version of Reason ever man, the creativity is flowing very well with this sampling feature and playing with Kong....its ridiculous man honestly.
 
Or open a couple for diff variations

just curious...

what makes it so creative?

i do not sample but what is the differents between sampling in fl studio, ableton live, maschine, etc and Reason?

i thought the "actual sample" gets the blood flowing...
 
if i was a mod, cats would catch temp-bans for actin' a fool in threads and sidetracking 'em...off the top

Most of the time when I sample, Im not sampling records at all. Im sampling percussion, vocals, guitars, synths etc. For many years as a reason user, sampling was something that you had to approach in a very premeditated manner. There was not a creative flow to it because it required you to jump between a few programs to really accomplish what you were trying to do. This Reason now allowing me to take sounds from the real world and work them into my track on the fly really changes the approach creatively. It reminds me of the days when samplers actually...well you know...sampled. The concept of sampling is not new so lets be clear, nothing ground breaking going on here in Reason. However the reason experience has been amplified SUBSTANTIALLY by allowing us to use the sampler beyond a playback capacity. There is much more of a connection between you and Reason now that it directly interacts with the physical world. Of course when talking about sampling records, the sample is what gets the blood flowing, but again the majority of the time Im sampling anything but records.

If any of yall have seen how Producer Illmind for example uses reason, you would say its ass backwards but his beats are top notch. People are going to work how they want to. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion....If you can though make sure you voice that opinion to the manufacturers and actually try to make a difference. Exactly I can't wait either. I love the new updates, and what I am going to do with them is going to be good for me and I am having so much fun in Record, Making music is so fun again, and I am showing people and they are in awe about it. I definitely won't let some cat tell me what and how I should run my studio, that's bananas, aint happening, dude wanna cat under his wing go find someone, I am seasoned very well. Right now it's about having fun while making dough.

Just for Kong? How about AKAI making a new controller that controls all the functions of Reason and have motor fader functions, and controls, Kong, Rex, NNXT, RV7000 etc. This cover everything instead of just Kong, what you think?


Everytime you tap on an instruments the faders move to that instrument. That would be kinda nice. I am so loving that Akai MPK88, it's a blessing. Akai is winning out of this whole RnR thingy because they are selling lots of MPK 49.

Let me ask you, how is R+R going to help you or is helping you right now in your work flow, what's your set up like.

:bigeyes: DAm Kong is like that? From reading the specs man it seems like it's a monster, as Mr Gibbs say "MPC KILLER" lol I can't wait to get my freakin hands on that freakin Kong so I can freaking make so new creative stuff "IN THE WORDS OF DR EVIL" :rofl:

Deaf doesn't that APC controls Live and all that? what's that used for? It controls all the functions right?
 
i like the akai mpk49 but i prefer the axiom pro serious over it due to more total control over record and reason.
 
^^^Agreed. Axiom Pro is perfect w/Reason. You don't even have to touch the mouse except on rare occasion.
 
I hear ya, for me I had the Axiom and didn't like the feel the M Audio 88 key joint I had broke down and I just didn't trust to get another one. the Akai 88 is doing me justice, and the transport on it is nice and the pads, more than the Axiom has. But if it works for you that's good! :)

Yo Deranged and Mr Gibbs the SSL mixer is the business! Yo I aint mixing my tracks in PT ANYMORE! Ima let yall hear a piece I mixed in it and right now I am working on a joint, I am just taking a break with my ears.

It looks nice too, but with my Akai88 I barely have to touch a mouse either. I just turn my whole body over to it and just get busy. I can even go through the sounds with it etc. I didn't see the Axiom Pro 88, and the others don't have weighted keys and I play so I like the weighted keys. I can't get with the A Pro bender and mod wheel, Akai's is much better for me imo .

and that is why you are not a mod lol. seriously that sounds ideal but it would cause a lot of problems. u gotta let people have some leeway mods are not here to be dictators

I really want to get my hands on an axiom pro. My BCF2000 is mad deep but having 3 midi controllers takes up quite a bit of desk space (BCF2000, MPD16 and Radium 49)
