Deranged, the reason I say your way of thinking is selfish is because...IT IS. When you only care about your immediate and not the society as a whole, you're being selfish.
Ironically, disregarding what happens in society can come back to bite you in the ass, so it defies the logic of only worrying about yourself.
Absolute nonsense promoted by further nonsense. That's like saying carbon monoxide is dangerous, so rather than seeing it as me taking precautions by putting a detector in my house to provide my family safety, you see it as me being selfish by not worrying about if every home on the planet has a detector when i can't do sh*t about it if theyu don't.
Real questions(not being smart, just wanna know so I can properly route this conversation), do you have kids? A family to support? People who hourly rely on you to solve every problem they have in life from not being able to turn on their "Princess Frog" DVD to waking up in the middle of the night with a cough and fever when they haven't had vaccinations because of risks you factually know exsist?
I'm aware of the world we live in. "Better" is an opinionated word, but americals got more than enough sugar lying around to make the lemons into lemonade. It's hot outside, I spent to many years worrying about everything around me, I'm on "family vacation sipping lemonade' right now.
If the world ends while I'm vacationaing, it was fun. If it don't, I can get back to work worrying about everything that effects everyone else after taking care of home.
My kids will be taught whether it was in their curriculum or not. I'll worry about others when mine are took care of. If everyone else dedicated their lives to the same, alot less kids would be running around without guidance.
But I'm selfish? WTF are these people who allow their kids to run around with no guidance? Parents dead? In jail? Nuthouse? Overseas in Military? At work? They were too selfish to appoint godparents or guardians who would be responsible. They were selfish enough to prematurely create a family when they weren't ready for the responsibility.
That's how you get people to rely on a classroom setting to teach their kids. I skipped school majority of the year my entire life(you can tell by my grammar I'm sure). Still smarter than most who went every day, still kept a 2.8(on my bad years)avg. rarely turning in homework(most of the guys I ran with made straight Fs, can't read or write most words over 5 letters long, and went to school more than me). I can honestly say school hasn't taught me anything. Appreciate my parents for keeping my nose in books and showing me how to survive in this world. You should've been aware of that from my prior post where I named multiple things left out of the 2 page chapter on black history in my school book.
I'm not the problem, I'm the solution. A parent who actually parents, and don't worry, my childrens friends effect my children, so kids who play with them and lack guidance have a "parental figure"(me) in their life now as well if they didn't before. One household at a time, bruh. BTW what are you actually doing for us all? Oh, informing us? Right.
