Sick stuff as always Vdub...you've perfected the craft of leaving room for vocals but making a dope instrumental at the same time. To the other guy:

Vdub is probably the last person to harp on about selling out...this dude is obviously a dope musician and is in the *BUSINESS* of selling music...its very egocentric to knock his hustle just because it doesn't fit in with what you like.

This is what I am addressing.

This statement was made completely out of a lack of integrity for what you do. I wholeheartedly disagree with it.

Again....if you want money, you get an education because the music industry ain't and will never be garunteed.

Hell....you ever heard the phrase " here today gone today"

that is the music industry.

...Yes he wants money and he just told you this is how he gets it. So what don't you get? Who said he is worried about any kind of a guarantee? He obviously isn't because he is still doing what he is doing.

If you think education is some sort of a guarantee you're living on a different planet with the unemployment rates of the U.S....these people are educated, not all, but a lot of them.

And as for your absurd statement about the music industry...you are definitely not living on planet earth if you think music is leaving.

The industry changes, yes, but the music will always be continually be a part of human life just like it has been since the day someone banged a rock on another rock...

Maybe if you are concerned about the RECORD industry I get it...who makes a living off selling records? But that really has little to do with making money from making music now-a-days. The MUSIC industry is bigger than ever.

You might not understand that with the way your brain seems to be wired.

And it would be great if you stopped acting like all of your opinions are somehow fact...you think the beat is generic...ok cool...move on...we heard you.

hahahaha do you speak out of experience or what you've read in blogs. This is what i do and actually the industry is- make what we want for our artist- mainstream. Which is what i do. Whatever the artist/label want they get. And i get paid. Whether it's major or indy. You talk as if it's either a hobby or a job hahaha, for me it's a career. There's nothing wrong with making money doing what you love, some people make money doing what they don't love/hate, inwhich if i go to school that's exactly what i'll be doing, and i strongly doubt i'll be making anything close to what i make now.
You have to go to school for 4+ years, which cost who know's how much depending on what you want to do, and then i won't even like it, cause i only want to do music. So why on earth would i go and do that when i already make money doing what i love.

hmm, so basically i should quit making money doing what i love, get a loan to go to school, go to school for 4+ years, hope i don't fired and that i can pay off my loans, and hate what i do hahaha..

I now make a lot of money, love what i do, don't have to punch a clock, don't owe anyone anything, no girlfriend, no kids, just me and my music.

hahaha bro you trippn me out

I think you need to stop worrying about this man's music and go work on that education you keep talking about cause that is not how you spell guaranteed.

typical vdub track. audio crack lol ! good **** vdub !

I actually brought you up in the (Your Favorite producer on FP or w.e. thread) but i didn't know you still login. keep banging out them heaters !

that's what I've been practicing for the past 3 months. I'm use to just filling a track up with stuff and not leaving room for anything, people still liked the tracks but there wasn't much that could be done with them. So now i'm practicing the art of still keeping my signature DNA in my tracks but making them a little simpler and vocal friendly

It's simple, but it's good. Co-sign the leaving room for vocals thing. But yo, can u speak on your Ozone process in a lil bit more detail?

FL is a good program like others have mentioned before. When running VST instruments it can take on the other "BIG" programs. Technique and Talent are a must for any program, yet some machines and programs make it easier than others.

I personally dont use FL simply because I dont "get it" meaning that the lay out and GUI is just so far off to me, as well as ableton LIVE. But I do respect good music no matter what machine or computer program it was created in.

I see the Microslav Philharmonic is some serious stuff. It has that hardware keyboard Workstation Thickness to it. I may have to pick that one up. Reasons Strings are wimpy (stock not the refill). I think I may grab the Philharmonic Refill and see how that holds up.

Anyhow, nice work homie . . . . . . . .
Keep Pushin Ya Push ! ! ! ! !

sure

Here's what i use to do...
open ozone 3
-click on the preset mix master
-turn on multiband stereo imaging
-turn band 1 2 and 3 up to 6
-turn on reverb
-turn the "wet" up to 2.6
-under multiband dynamics i make the bass, mid, and high- ratio:exp1.0
....otherwise it takes out all sounds under a certain db level

Then i'll make a track
When i make a track i like to start with the hook, the fullest part of the track
-add all the instruments i want to add and just make an 8bar loop..
-tweak the eq a bit with the volume 85-90%high, and make sure the bass is not clipping, the claps/highs aren't overpowering and then the mids sit perfectly in the mix..
-then i'll make sure all the levels of each instrument are where i want them to be, do some panning, eq some instruements, add whatever ear candy fx i want and then go from there..
-turn it back down to regular level, and then just make my verses intro, bridge/3rdverse
-take a break for about an hour
-come back and listen to it with fresh ears at high volume and go from there.

Pure crack.
That's all I can say, and ignore that clown.

it's tight...sounds like something Keisha Cole would use

i gotta admit i wasnt feeling it at first with the sound and the progression, but u really flipped it and made it hot, nice!
u should post more vids, im sure fp would love to see more of em
