Obviously you missed the point...and my post about 'filtering' for that matter. Sad really.
No, I didn't miss the point, your post, and it's not sad. I disagree with you, that's all.
You say they would be doin ppl an injustice to filter the crap out? That would be true if there were only a handful of producers, but PMP has around 1000 producers now. Each submitting 2 or 3 beats per dump is a retarded amount to go thru for an A&R.
In my opinion, PMP isn't for branding. Myspace is for that. PMP's main allure is that it has access to A&Rs. People don't pay money for the opportunity to brand themselves on PMP, they pay to have access to A&Rs.
So, while I agree with the philosophies that you guys talk about, the reason I disagree with you guys is because I'm STRICTLY talking about PMP, filtering, and A&Rs. You guys talk about the music industry in general. That's not the topic. I'm staying on topic.
Besides, I'm not even doing this for me, I'm doing this for ppl who may be considering PMP as an option. My situation is beautiful now. I'm good. It's people who don't have access to the movers and shakers who would contemplate using sites like PMP. I'm trying to clear up some issues for them.
Anyway, I agree with Legal, this thread has run it's course. We're just repeating ourselves at this point. I'm out (unless some new **** comes up here)
