Akai MPC 2500 released?

I heard this beast is black with a few sliders, like the 4000...my roommate saw one yesterday at the PAL audio/lighting showcase in Toronto...he said it looked ill as hell...but the dude at the both didnt know anything about it...all he said is, "we just released it yesterday", i guess he had no promotional flyers, spec sheets, nothing...i checked the akiapro site...nothing as well...anyone got a pic or any other info???

I would be skeptical. There is no news from Japan on any of the websites. MPCs are always released there first.

smells like bullsh!t.

there are lots of new mpc bullsh!t roomers going around.

There is a new MPC in the works, but its very hush hush. The specs of it haven't even been released yet.

So should I hold off on buying a 1k...

I only need the MPC pads and sequencer.

yeah guy you don't know what this could be it could be anything from a smaller 1k to somthing more powerful than a 4k. So just get what you think fits your needs now and dont' worry about whats coming out

There is mos def a new MPC that wil be released. MPC 2500 i saw a pic nd tha specs for it aready. Heres is wut i saw on boxden.

Product Description
The Akai Professional MPC2500 Music
Production Center combines a 64-Track MIDI
Sequencer with a 32-voice 16bit Stereo Digital
Sampler. The MPC is a rock solid sequencing
and drum programming machine with 16
velocity and pressure sensitive rubber pads.
The unit allows you to sample more efficiently.
This composition center is contained in one
extremely powerful desktop unit.
Designed for professional audio production,
the MPC2500’s intuitive and ergonomic
interface makes it the ultimate user friendly
composition studio
Two internal effects processors can be used
simultaneously. This includes a wide range of
effects algorithms, such as reverb, bit
grunger, chorus, phasers, flying pan, 4-band
EQ, compressor, and a phase shifter.
Real-time control is provided by two note
variation sliders and two Q-Link knobs. Q-link
knobs can be separately assigned to allow
flexible, real-time performance control of a
wide variety of selectable parameters. These
parameters include level, pan, filter cut-off and
resonance, tuning, LFO(low frequency
oscillator) speed depth, all effect parameters
and more.
Each assignable Q-Link knob can generate
MIDI controller data so that all performance
information can be recorded and played back
from within a sequence. The Q-Link
sequencer allows cyclic modulation
programming.
Following the highly acclaimed MPC60 and
MPC3000, 2 MIDI inputs and 4 MIDI outputs
come standard enabling 64 external MIDI
channel operation. In addition, the
MPC2500 can individually control its onboard
sampler up to 64 Parts, allowing users to
assign a different program on each track.
A large LCD screen allows a clear view of
sequence data displaying features such as a
piano roll, or a drum machine 'grid'.
Continuous MIDI data can be shown as well
as edited graphically.
The MPC2500 comes with 16MB of onboard
memory which can be expanded up to 128
MB of RAM via the optional EXM128 memory
card.
The MPC2500 has the capability of an
optional internal 80GB Hard Disk and CD-RW
drives.
Positioning
Akai Professional, in its pursuit to remain the
leader of digital sampling technology has
released the MPC 2500. This unit designed for

Nothing special I dont see whats the big deal on MPC's to me ??

wow that thing is prety impressive. man they made it look a bit too much like the mpc1000. damn i wish i had waited to get that instead. well i'll have to live with my mpc1k. its still dope as ****. hahaha

Looks cool.Makes me want an mpc again.
Them things are overpriced though, and I doubt this will be an exception.
They do have excellent resale value however.

Those specs don't make sense, it says 10 outs then it says 4. The specs are a cut and paste job of the 1k and 4k spec sheets. It says 70W power consumption (with all options) which just happens to be what it says on the 4k spec sheet.

Also why would Akai bring out something black after it went to such an effort to make everything blue. The pic looks like a photoshop effort.

Nice hoax, but still a hoax...

i tend to not believe this either...

but in any case my work flow really exploded when i got my 1k. now i synch it with reason and the result is a sampler of apocalyptic power. throw a midi controller into the setup and you become god.

also - if you're one of the lucky few who timestretch and zone their samples before loading them into your sampler, what would you really gain with the new mpc?

i couldn't be happier with my setup and wouldn't upgrade even if this was legitimate (which i am not making a judgement on, but qualified people both here and on the mpc forums have called bs on it).

we'll just have to see, i guess!

its a hoax, That machine doesn't really have anything to make people want to get it. I dont' belive akai would make a machine like that. I think the specs would have to be a little stronger than that. Thats not impressive to me at all.

definite fake.....

just look at it. an what homie said about the color scheme is dead on.

good try though....

the record and volume knobs are on a different angle to the Q-link knobs, too..

looks a bit iffy now. but i must admit, i got pretty excited when i first saw it this morning. didnt really think to double check it all. never occured to me that someone could be so pathetic and sad to actually fake this sort of thing.

Isnt that right Mr J-Krypt, with only 1 post.
