Actually I think that the Streetboxx is considered NOT a current product. It's on the old product list on their website.
Also, leave the samples original and I can see if I might be able to clean them a little since I have a lot of experience in this.
If you want you can go ahead and send them to me through you send it(dot)com (no spaces)
my e-mail is EpithetMusic(at)yahoo(dot)com
Ah man...
I've been rambling on and on about all this stuff. I'm feeling kinda vain at this point. My inner conscience is catching up with my inner sound engineer. I think I'm probably not going to put the sounds online. At least not until I first hear back from Zoom and BeatKangz in the email.
I've got mixed feelings about the ethics of it all... even after all the hours of work I put into editing the sounds. It all comes down to...
http://StreetBoxx.com/Bio.html
Well I got a speedy reply from one of the gentlemen at BeatKangz.
He really put things into a healthy perspective. He was respectful and open-minded yet clear. Essentially, I get the impression that the BeatKangz team cares about the work that they did on the StreetBoxx and that various people/companies along the way tried to screw them over and misrepresent and exploit Hip-Hop culture.
We didn't get into the technicalities of the copyright and such but I'm under the impression that BeatKangz are the dominant people in terms of copyright ownership issues concerning derivative works and catalogs and packages are concerned and that they licenced some of their work in some qualified capacity to Zoom.
At this point they are established as an independent company that is going to debut at some point in the near future and when they do they will be providing more of what people like in terms of sounds--material that surpasses past creative works!
This is really all I needed to know to make up my mind solidly that I won't be putting out any kind of samples of the StreetBoxx, even though I said I would at first. I don't want to contribute in any way to the exploitation of this team of creative individuals who are striving to establish a greater presence in pro Hip-Hop. If I or anyone else was to put out some samples without their permission it would be disrespectful to these guys who are trying to make it and do their thing.
It also might be a source of legal conflict, even though the gentleman I corresponded with was civil and polite and even open-minded about discussing other options.
If people are interested in BeatKangz or StreetBoxx samples, really they should go to
http://StreetBoxx.com and start from there.
In my email to BeatKangz I apologized to them for the disrespect and I openly apologize here too. It's so easy to get caught up in the attainment of cutting edge sounds that we can forget about the element of Brotherhood in Hip-Hop and other genres that benefit from the development of Hip-Hop. We forget that behind every sound is a creator and that creator is a human being with goals and aspirations just like us.
Really I should be thanking these guys for contributing to the Hip-Hop/Beat Instrumental community in their own special way...
There's got to be ethics in musicanship or it's a sinking ship.
Whoever it was who reminded me to take pause to think before I acted... thank you. Was that you Krushing? At any rate, thanks. Peace.
Props to the beatmakers worldwide. Let's keep it real.
