YouTube is now being added to Billboard Charts

It's a big deal that this has happened. The industry that really must be frowning right now is radio because there coming closer and closer to irrelevancy. Strictly controlling who can and cannot get played is finally becoming out of date in a clear way.

The question I have is how this will work out as far as money. As YouTube becomes more and more integral to music success how does it compare in compensation for artists vs radio? I guess it's all in negotiation. On the plus side for artists though, artist like Rihanna probably get paid for views but they don't get paid for spins if they didn't write the song.

It can go both ways. It's good because I have some videos that have been doing really well! And it's a new way for good talent to find it's way in the industry (sort of). But bad because of the fake views.
