ehh im not a fan of him as a rapper.. but his production i pretty nasty, he's very versatile.

Yea he can't carry a track by himself ever, period. But when he produces for someone else and adds his vocals for the hook, maybe one verse, its good. cause dude is killing the boards right now.

he is a very talented producer, one of the worst mc's though, and i dont consider him hip hop. he's just a dope beatmaker no more no less

then u need to check out home boys track record.. i consider him one of the pure defenitions of hip hop..

always goin outside the box, he could freestyle wit the best.. its just that u gotta realize.. R & B and Pop is where all the real money is.. so he catered to a different audience thats all..

im not a fan of his lyricism but he can throw down on the mic if he chooses to

He's a damn good producer... He just makes good music. Hell just give Fergie's (Yes Fergie)CD a spin or two. If you had more producers of his caliber hip-hop wouldn't be as boring.

He's one of the best producers
One of my favorites too and had the luck to work with Michael Jackson

Yeah, he pretty dope, for real. Plus, I am feeling some ofhis work on John Legend's and C. Michelle's albume as well.

Still waiting on this album he is working on with MJ...if he can flip that situation then BIG UPS

if we had more producers willing to take the chances he takes hip hop wouldnt be so boring everyone plays too safe nowadays

smh @ Will.I.Am not being "hip hop". He is one of the few that's mainly "heard" that keeps it fresh and new all the time. He just doesn't limit his self to hip hop music which I think is great. Not one of my favorites but he's cool with me.

"It's Like That" is an instant favorite from me though.

That is so true. That's the thing I like about Will I.A.M He takes chances. And whoever said that he was not Hip Hop is definetly wrong. Will IAM is definetly Hip Hop. He comes from the B-Boy era.

everyone is just afraid of not sellin I think. There are probably some cats who really are making music that they like for example Soulja Boy and most of the southern movement. I believe they may really actually like the music they are making but up and comin cats tend to make cookie cutter songs in hopes of that big break. I blame the mind set of hip hop fans as well. Cats are trying to define hip hop and box it into a definition of what hip hop really is. There are no set in stone rules of what hip hop is thats what makes it beautiful. Laffy Taffy is just as hip hop as Brenda's Got A Baby. My Humps is just as Hip Hop as Big Poppa
