Yamaha XG50

Hi,

I had unistalled Yamaha XG50 and when I'm trying to reinstall it a popup menu appears: According to the current configuration files you have already installed Yamaha Softsynthesizer. Please uninstall the Yamaha Softsynthesizer using the uninstaller and restart you system.

I tried million times with the Yamaha uninstaller but with no success. I searched in every corner of the PC and I can't find nothing that have to do with the XG50.

Any help please?

You have to use the utility specifically designed to uninstall the software synthesizer.

Look in the yamaha cd or in the cd which you used to install the program, if you did use a cd medium. If not, look for the yamaha XG site. Look around and you will find it there.

I had the same problem
I used the file "S-YXG50 Ver4 KeyProgram 50v4Key" and it got installed. but doesn't make any sound...

i am Italian and have't good english. For this problem you must do following instruzioni (now i write in Italian):
1) in strumenti/ opzioni cartella metti il flag a "visualizza file nascosti" e togli il flag da "nascondi i file protetti di sistema".
2)in C\Programmi - delete la cartella Yamaha
3) in C\Program files - delete la caretella Yamaha (se c'è)
4) in C:\Programmi\InstallShield Installation Information - delete "{B713000F-FBE3-11D3-9D91-0050DA5C3DCF}
5) usare la funzione "Cerca" di windows mettendo nel campo ricerca "sxg" e rimuovere i file trovati (sicuramente sono in system32): accertarsi prima di rimuovere che la data dei file sia quella di installazione del sintetizzatore xg50).
6) in REGEDIT cercare e cancellare tutte le cartelle "yamaha" (anche quì facendo attenzione a non cancellare drive di cd rom, o cartelle di cubase ecc.)
7)ripristinare quello che si è cambiato al punto 1)
8) riavviare il Pc
9) reinstallere il sintetizaatore XG normalmente

I know this is an old post but, I have a virtual machine and use xp pro for music editing etc, and installed the yamaha s xyg50. I couldn't get it fully installed because of the problem stated above. Your solution worked well and saved me from alot of extra work. Thanks!

Translated...to English.
1) In Tools/Folder Options put the flag to "View hidden files" and unflag "Hide protected system files".
2) in C Program Files - delete the Yamaha folder
3) in C Program files - delete the yamaha cover (if there is one)
4) in C Program FilesInstallShield Installation Information - delete "{B713000F-FBE3-11D3-9D91-0050DA5C3DCF}
5) use the "Search" function of windows by putting "sxg" in the search field and remove the files found (surely they are in system32): make sure before removing that the date of the files is the date of installation of the xg50 synthesizer).
6) in REGEDIT search for and delete all "yamaha" folders (also here being careful not to delete cd rom drives, or cubase folders etc.)
7) restore what was changed in point 1)
8) restart the PC
9) reinstall the XG synthesizer normally
