mpc VS rs7000

so you guys satisfied with new os...?
I m mpc user... but thinking of selling (meeeeby)
because i only use it to du percussion.. and drumbeats..
ok peeps give me an explanation.. why only mpcs are still woeth money after several years? why all musician uses mpcs instead of rs or mc900...?
i really wonder too...
kus like, i like mpcs everyting except no efx(i mean i use sp808ex with so i don need efx but) and time stratching(same to this kus i use sp808ex which has powerful time stratch)
i m just trying to find new gear to use, i guess...

I think you've read enough here to make an informed decision...... a decision that you really need to DEMO the machine in question at your local retailer.

The MPC commands a high price because it is a classic. The RS is only new so it's classic status is yet to be determined.

So im curious....besides the filtering and soundset (already got that on disk) what does this machine offer???

In laymen's terms please.

ok, i'm not 100% up to speed on the MPC.. but i'll try...

The soundset you say you have on disk is all sample based i'm assuming. The RS has a synth engine meaning the sounds will tweak a hell of a lot further giving more possibilites than samples that are dependant on the specs of your sampler.

Real time control. If you do hip hop this might not interest you but for other forms of electronica this is a huge bonus. Well, it's good for hip hop too actually because you have instant access to ADSR and LFO for filter, amp and pitch on waveforms AND samples. Yep, pretty much anything you can do with the built in sounds can be done to samples.

You can even create your own custom LFO synths. It's a very intensive section and you could program them for weeks. I haven't even gotten round to that part yet but I intend to!!

18 filter types.... you already know that one. But hey, 18!!!

Grid record ala 909 sequencing.

You still get a couple of pads to bash it out, only two yes but how many you gonna hit at once anyway?

The effects. 100 insert effects. Heaps of very realistic reverbs. Syncable delays...heaps of variations or just make your own. Master effects section is the icing on the cake.

Some of the best drum roms i've ever heard put into 63 kits. (you can go straight for specific instrument kits if you prefer including a few SFX kits which are cool)

Blah blah blah, I could go on for weeks but i'm not going to.
