I didnt read the entire thread, but i read a bunch of shit about your attitude and networking....that doesnt mean you cant make a living making shit in your bedroom. hands down.....now thats not to say you will have a lengthy career doing that without those two things.......but i think a "professional" is someone who can pay their bills and maintain a livelihood....doesnt have to be a full time job etc.
I know a couple "big time" producers who have side hustles away from music, from playing keys in there church to being an engineer etc....but they are still considered "professional"
a hit is a hit at the end of the day, i dont care if you made that shit on an iphone in the backseat of your moms minivan or a million dollar studio.

......oh and most producers make shit in those massive trillion dollar studios with a little m-audio keyboard and reason/fruity loops/logic etc.....they just know how to really use those programs, get a decent mix from the get go, and obviously make a dope record.
