Why wont sped up sample link up with slicex?

say i have a sample that i wanna use but i want to alter the speed/pitch of the sample so i drag it into the step sequencer and adjust it in there. then say i want to chop up the new sped up sample so i go to drag the sample from the step sequencer to slicex and the sample is back at the original tempo and not the newly adjusted one. any ideas why? im using fl studio 8

after you first speed up the sample, export in into a wav file then import in fl studio and open it with slicex. try that.
you can also adjust the tempo through slicex by adjust the bpm(the bpm on slicex not the one on fl interface)
