what was the motivation behind playing instruments and singing instead of "making beats/tracks..."?

also going from total control of your beats to now playing in a band, I am assuming other band members are influencing the final product. How do you deal with formerly being your own conductor and now having to deal with other peoples ideas?
 
1-it came from 2 things:, one, the record i was promoting at the time(the third hand) was all live, so it only made sense to tour for it w/ a band, and two, there's stuff you can only get from live instrumentation. i wanted to be able to do both sampling and live stuff on my records.

2-that's not correct. i make the records by myself, play most(usually all) the instruments, write the songs, etc. i tour with a band to make the show more involving than just me djing. so no, i dont have to deal with them influencing anything; i send out charts, tell them what to learn, and that's that.
