Can you dig it ?
Just curious...

Why do some people think they're above it?

Why is it supposed to be a put down?

... and yeah, I'm kinda bored.

boring.webp

nothing wrong with Soundclick like there's nothing wrong with the Goodwill,Dollar Tree,Family Dollar,Dollar General,etc....
nothing wrong with using the dollar menu at McDonalds or Burger King

it's a great service for producers and artists to get what they need to do their music and from their music

People tend to look down on it because of the cheap prices on there.

I don't think they realize that guys that are in the age group on Soundclick.... only need sneaker money.

I think it's good to start dudes off interacting with people and trying to make a sale... and finding out what does and doesn't work. Like some early business training / practice or something. I could be wrong.

Because people who think they beats are better don't have the hustle of those they feel better than. For a person to hate soundclick....they must have had or still have an account. And plus when you go deeper into the charts it gets pretty much "below the supposed" standard of what a suppose "hit making beat" sounds like.....you know....the what most think is a song that would play on the radio type beat. It might have changed though since I used to be on it. I used it because I didn't know any other places to upload unlimitedly and embed everything on myspace.....back in those days.

I don't get it why people look down on it, while "they" say you should use every tool out there on the internet for your music.

Because the "REAL" producers are jealous that these young dudes with pirated software and copycat beats are making 10x more money off of music than them.

^^^THIS. Deranged lock this thread up. That answer hit the nail on the head.

Soundclick the business has shitty business rep for a reason. From producers stealing beats or leasing them and then selling them, people reselling beats they sold the rights away for, people not following the legal contract they signed when they purchased a beat, and a lot of other reasons than just money. Plus you have no control over your content in reality Soundclick pimps the hell out of producers just like facebook, twitter and even FP lol. U think those ads on the this forum come cheap? Yeah they're google adsense based but I am pretty sure that FP makes good money per click on those ads. Soundclick charges people $4000 to start at campaigns minimum then they charge producers to post ads on their website too and then charge u if u do not want ads and u pretty much have to have vip to sell there anyway so u r paying them for that too. $10 a month aka $120 a year to not control your content plus design fees for that VIP page (most cats start around $250 if they are really good I find) when u could pay someone $200 to build a custom page and $50 a year to go daddy to get your server space and another $10 for your domain with email to your site and be done with it for years and it is yours you own it and it is your own content that you can now place ads on to get money and drive your own traffic to and get your own sales with. I am not saying you suck for using Soundclick I am saying Soundclick itself does.

Ditto.

I've read a lot of shady things about soundclick. From promotional flaws to beat jacking and etcetera. It's definitely a great tool to sell your music but it's just something that I can't be a part of myself. I think a lot of people find soundcloud more intuitive and straight forward but it's not as good for selling music. Whenever it does reach the point where it does.. goodbye soundclick.

I like how Dahtrump has his soundclick setup
here
SoundClick artist: DAH Trump - DAHTrumpMusic.com | Home of Your Next Hit. Period.

I would like to use the built in traffic of soundclick to display/play my instrumentals and if ppl what to buy from me they would click on a link that will redirect them to my site to buy from myflashstore player/store

but now I'm wondering if it's worth $120 just for the built in traffic if I don't buy ads space from Soundclick on top of the VIP
???????

I'd spend the $120 on Facebook ads. If u target the right people u should make the money back plus some. Soundclick themselves have been known for bad business practices. Taking tracks down for no reason or because they think there is a sample that is not there but sounds similar to something else ect. They cannot prove there is a sample there or if its a royalty free one and will shut you down plus when their site or even Soundcloud goes down then u r screwed. I think we should all take a lesson from MegaUpload and take real ownership over our property. I am moving into that direction anyway.

The term "SoundClick producer" is so stupid, like having a SoundClick account immediately discredits your music somehow. If your music is hot does it really matter where you host it for others to view? Of course not.

to the point where you can call that site a SCAM???

right I would only use soundclick for the built in traffic and not to sell beats from the that page... ppl will click on the graphic buy now and it will redirect to my site with myflashstore on it..what is the different between a regular account and VIP?? I haven't researched Soundclick yet since I was always about doing song development at the local level...actually tracking the artists and then mixing the songs in my studio
Facebook ads I have found out is a has a high level of ROI among most businesses including music production companies as long as they follow up on the leads

I think its easier to draw in money from soundcloud. I say that because the navigation on soundclick draws people into going under "Music Charts and Genres>>Beats/Instrumentals" and clicking on someones name or a beat that says Free DL!

It only gives ppl with high chart standing the lime light. Even if you drop a direct link to your page the only navigation your left with at the top says "Home > Instrumentals > Charts > Insert Producer Here" giving the artist to more direction to find more freebies. There's so many artist that aren't serious who don't give a damn about buying anything.

On soundcloud you gotta dig for beats lol. Its not really a big competition and a big trend/template to follow on. That also opens peoples ears to finding different types of music.

mostly customization options. u can't build upon the free accounts outside of adding music or text with vip you can do a lot of really different stuff to it if you know css programming.

I've made profit from it I've never lost money from Soundclick its always paid for itself with minimal effort (if u can't make $10 a month selling beats there's a problem) but there are problems on the site with the people who run it. Lots of people have left soundclick who were charting at one point or another because of their business practices. WarBeats did a video about their crappy business tactics. I think it is one of the better complaints about the site actually. Its on Vimeo and YouTube but I do not have the link handy atm.

another note you can actually open yourself for more potential money by having your own site from ad revenue and its much cheaper than soundclick in the long run to have your own site going that you can host and control and do what you want with.

But Soundclick is like the Walmart of beats.... every thing and every style is there.

If you have your own personal site, it's hard to keep new traffic coming through.

It's a lot of hustling... but it's possible.
