I am a big fan of Scratch magazine.I trust much of the information in the magazine. So I could'nt help be influenced by the Roc Raida interview a while back

http://www.geminidj.com/product reviews/rocraida_turntablereview.pdf

I purchased the Gemini TT-04 for my first turntable.I borrowed like 30 old records from my brothers roomate and started messing around. The sound so far is exellent exept when I play a record that is warped, scratched or dirty. Why am i finding threads that say"Stay away from gemini blah blah blah"that's all everybody can say I want know why. I don't care what everyone else uses.I know everyone else uses technics. I'm not everyone else.

tt-04 doesnt look like a bad turn at all. gemeni's products in the past have had a history of being cheap (price-wise which is good, but quality as well). it looks like theyve been working on quality control with their newer products.

its all preference after certain bare necessities have been reached. dont sweat what anyone says. keep practicing. peace

i got a gemini umx 9 i use for mixing and light scratching, never failed on me, offcourse, if you're a turntablist...

gemini used to make very very crappy products (like stanton)

Hello Mate.

I would imagine the user will determine the longevity of their mixers.

Upon reading your post, I realised I own a Gemini Mixer that is 20 years old. I only retired it due to requiring
a 3 band equaliser.

Cheers!

1. Ever read a review of gear in Scratch? Notice how it NEVER points out real negatives of the gear? And notice how they always have not-new gear in their "gear showcase". Free product and them getting paid by the companies.

2. People in DJing hate Gemini because their quality up-until-recently (which still needs to be seen) has been complete ****. They've been peddling this **** on unknowing DJs for years. I'm sorry, I'm not going to go out and trust a conman because he says he's gone straight now. Maybe if they gave every DJ who bought their **** upgrades, maybe, but that'll never happen.

People forget that about 3-4 years ago the only reliable turntable brand was Technics.

Vestax was a close second after the PDX.

Numark, Stanton, Gemini, etc. have really improved their products lately. Its good for the business because now companies are competeing whereas Technics did nothing for a long time.

I can't speak for mixers, but generally the ones at the top 3-4 years ago are still up there. Rane, Vestax, A & H, Pioneer, etc.

Though Stanton and Gemini are getting better. I think Numark still lacks to some degree here.

Alls I know is that the old school Gemini Scratchmaster mixer and Jazzy Jeff pmx 1100 mixer were the shyt back in the day. Back in the early to mid 90s if you was a TRUE scratch dj you either had one of them or the DMC mixer.......I had all 3 LOLOLOLOL Hell I used the Scratchmaster from about 93 to 95 then the Jazzy Jeff from 95 to 96 and then had the old school DMC PMX 2 mixer from 96 to 99 before I broke down and got the 05 Pro. I still got my DMC mixer to this day and I swear I don't know how I accomplished the things I did on that thing! I wish I still had my Jazzy Jeff mixer but can you believe I accidentally forgot it at a club one night next thing I know it was gone!!!
