i can be mistaken, but i had a convo with a dude who used to be on here, and we were talkin about this, hes actually in the industry, but he said something along the lines of like if rappers dont spend a certain amount of money, the government takes it by taxes and whatnot, i dont remember much of the convo but its something similar to this situation

Yesterday I was watching this documentary about the Chamber Bros. (crack dealers from Detroit).

They were busted after the cops found several VHS with them showing all their cash, their big house with a 24k gold water tab, etc...

Close. You can waste money on these useless trinkets and write them off on your taxes as "stage props" for lack of better word. If you bout your biz, it can be done to a sports car or home in a gated community. I'm not at the level to elaborate. I still have to pay every year instead of getting paid, lol. Stuff on my plate may change that soon(fingers crossed).

Yeah, I 'm from Detroit..... We know all about them Chamber brothers....lol

tax avoidance. as Daranged said. you can get part of it cut. if you are part of a company or i guess self imployed you can get your mpc and keyboards cheaper due to tax cuts at the end of the year. but keep EVERY RECIEPT.

a guy i know who works in the advert muzak business works in london where free parking is non exsistent. found out last year you can get your parking money reimbursed if you sign some forms.

also gold, diamonds, bling and real estate in general dont lose value overtime....if anything gold is stronger than money

should just buy some diamonds and some plat as some investment if you can afford it. but a diamond studded rc lambrini is just face palm stuff

anyways "9th, jay play it back one time"

I don't think you are giving him credit enough.

You are like 90+% of g.p.

Listen to what he says @ 10:42-11:24

I am sure he has people that handle his finances and assure him of what he can spend without really losing anything.

I can a comment like you made for people that go out and have to buy the latest jordans and outfits for themselves and their kids and are broke at the end of the month.

The thing is, when its on a larger scale that you aren't use to it seems lavish.

In the end its just a piece of paper that only holds value because you/everyone believes it does... focus on what matters you & your families health and keeping food on the table... everything else is meaningless.

If you would like to discuss wasted resources...

How about the time & money that people put into making music, buying gas guzzling rides, rims, paint jobs, jewelry, expensive clothes, flat screen tvs, movies, playing video games, making rants on message boards, selling drugs, harassing people not in the f.o.p, jetting around for political meetings, running the water while brushing your teeth, watering your grass, buying gifts for special occasions rather than focusing on helping the world by using less.

Again it's not that deep... remove the plank from your eye before trying to take the splinter from someone else.

just my opinion

Why do rappers waste their cash???

'cause they're f_ckin stupid.

plain and simple.

If you had made, say, $2M in one year, you're taxed at 38%. Meaning, Uncle Sam will take $760K from you if you don't find a way to put that money in something non-taxable. Rappers are stupid, they run out and buy flossy sh_t then cry when the IRS comes after them. If they wer smart, instead of stupid, the lions share of that money would go into something like an IRA or 401K so, until they withdraw money, they're only presenting a small amount of cash to be taxed.

Rappers spend lots of money because...well, because life is a constant dick-measuring contest to most rappers. So worried about self-perception that they are willing to make stupid investments in order to boost their egos and stay "competitive" with other rappers as far as gaining material things. Rappers need to keep up with the Jones's.

It can also be contributed to a mentality of poverty. Those who grow up in poverty are more likely to over-spend when they do come across wealth. It's a way of compensating for the low self-esteem induced by severe poverty. This isn't to imply that if you grew up poor, you're absolutely going to have crappy spending habits, but the likely hood is a little bit higher than someone who has had steady resources most of his/her life.

If nothing else, most rappers are stupid and uneducated. And stupid people don't understand money management. They are unable to comprehend the steps needed for long-term financial stability.

Honestly, when I see most rappers "flaunting" their wealth (and by flaunting, I mean wasting), I can't help but recognize the mentality of an ADHD 14-year-old inheriting a large sum of $$$.
