you not gonna go far with that attitude JAMES.

Future is the future. he inspires those who believe in his astronomical campaign to achieve greatness. arguably the first successful "Trappin & Blues" (Trap&B for short) artist as well. he also has a joint venture with NASA is in the works.

I never made a post directly to you. Reread the thread. You directed several posts to me before my second response. My problem with the thread was from post 1 it focused on black folk in a poor light when it's not just about us.

It's like starting a thread about welfare and only showing lil hoodrats with a few kids and no babydaddies.

It's also annoying that we live in a world where so many of us run to a site like FP to "study theory", "learn chords", and "learn to mix" with hopes of "being the next Lex Luger", yet we all seem to chime in with confusion to why things a guy like Lex Luger and these others we idolize from a distance without fully comprehending where they're from do things they do.

Sometimes I feel i'm one of the few up here who happen to understand these things. It's no different than threads about music making people sell dope. As a former dope dealer with friends who still do it to this day, I'm aware none of us hit no damn block after hearing a song, yet FPersa will try to convince me otherwise while looking down on me for my past...yet still hoping to one day make a dope dealer anthem with 2 Chainz...just seems like some fake shyt to me.

No offense to no one.

I apologize, I did portray black people in a bad way and that wasn't the intention at all

I understand these things I just felt as a black man the only way these problems will get solved is if we talk about them. on your first post you said I'm trying to criticize everything urban when I only just wanna talk about it

I think that there are stereotypes out there and it's been addressed in this thread.... or maybe another one.

If there was a thread about welfare and it only showed hoodrats that's because that's the stereotype. That's who most people believe is on welfare. Is it true, nope but that's the stereotype.

In the other thread what was talking proper associated with... a stereotype... they said people were taking "white". Do black people use proper English... all damn day long and all across the country ... BUT the stereotype is that we TALK DUMB (certain black people) and people were even supporting it in that thread. So the pants sagging and talking dumb is a stereotype that people should not perpetuate.

Pull up yo damn pants and talk like you at least graduated from middle school. Then the stereotypes will "eventually" be lessened or go away.

Stay stuck in the same old cycle, keep getting treated the same old way.

Don't be fake to please anybody but there's only ONE way to speak English, if you have an accent or something because of your region - that's called dialect. They make belts for pants and they make pants that fit you comfortably, but those.

... or you can say you're just being yourself when in actuality you look just like Lil B.

... and anybody that doesn't feel like CONFORMING... I would like a number 14 with a Sprite.

There's something in the WORKPLACE called CULTURE. Here they call it Corporate Culture... what it actually means is "Do you fit in with us? Do we want you sitting up around us all day?" ... if you want the dollars, you'll be part of the CULTURE of whatever workplace you pick.

I talk one on one to some of the people. Yep, they're dressed up slimeballs, dressed up drunks, dressed up everything... but they know that it's a GAME when they leave the house in the morning. So they play.

They get their Durant on.

When you all get kids and ish, I hope you feel that you've made a positive impact on the world for their sake.

I sound like "racial guy" today. I'm trying not to.

But I have a problem with what mainstream media has made it. You can see for yourself in that 2pac pic and in the Ice-T video it wasn't always the nonsense that goes on now. As I said before, my azz was never exposed. Back in my day the lower your pants sat the bigger the shirt you wore with it.

People take everything we create and push it to ridiculousness. I remember in the movie "don't be a menace" they made a joke oput of pants hanging low off people's azz. It's not as much a joke nowadays, because people really leave the house with their entire azz exposed.

I have no problem with the era in hip hop history when baggy clothes were out or the fact that some people's baggy clothes didn't sit directly on their waste.

That has nothing to do with this new era of what's "acceptable". I'd rather see shiny suits make a comeback.

Our fashion was once a reflection of our culture. Now it comes secondary to having a white girl in your vid. We've made a circus out of our own culture. No more balance, just ridiculousness. We did the same with jewelry, then we just left it alone. Don't act like a jesus piecew, cross, or that cool cuban link with the spider or panther on it is the same thing as a FROSTED FLAKES BOX on the end of a chain.

I don't know....

I know that my wife used to like rap music and she liked the way the people dressed and the SWAG but there was another side of her life that involved going on cruises and going to really nice parties and ish... and she said she just didn't feel "RIGHT" taking an illiterate sounding dude in an ankle length pimp suit to any of the corporate functions. She told me that I kind of "fit in everywhere" from the hood party with the garbage can full of fruit and liquor to the office Christmas party where they had me messing up karaoke songs. She's never ashamed of her "black man" but some of her friends ONLY bring their partners to hood functions. He's good at dominoes and he's the life of the party... get him in a circle of "working class" black men and he has no idea what happened in the news, can't talk on anything except sports, etc.
I see dudes like 'em all the time, they show up to family functions and don't even know how to act around the older people. Looking all shifty, squirming and can't wait to make it back to the hood, lol.

Sad ish. We're better than that.

Don't delete this thread, it's a good debate.

Some people think "They'll always look at us like this"... not knowing the people that look at us like this now will eventually die. If we keep acting the way we SHOW THE WORLD, then I guess they will have no choice but to look at us like ice cream cone face tatted gold grilled gucci mane's.

Don't do that to your face / neck / teeth... speak well when it's necessary, act respectful in public, pull up your pants, do something positive with your life. Be proud of who you are / be who you are - don't try to be what other people call you... if you do then you're fake.

There's a reason I'm talking a whole lot in this thread... because I'm for the kids.

.... biggrome is for the kids.

lol

thats whats women love. women like men with the best of both worlds. kinda reminds me of what marry j blige said "good boys aint no fun and bad boys aint no good"

I feel like everything these days in the urban and hip hop world is getting questioned and looked down upon. All that looking down takes the element out of it. Realistically the stuff being questioned is stuff that already been there for years.

Cursing bad
Profanity bad
Misogyny bad
Drugs and alcohol bad
Tattoos bad
Tight clothing bad
Baggy clothing bad
Sampled songs bad

All of that been here.
With all these things that get questioned by the hip hop police I wonder where it would be without it? Imagine rick ross talking about flipping them pattys instead of stacks...What would your image of a rapper look like? I bet everybody will sound like will smith lmao..../rant

deranged can you delete this thread?

I'd rather leave it. I can delete any post you feel you don't want around, I just think it should stand for what it stood for.

And again, my gripe wasn't with YOU. it was with thread after thread of degrading B.S.

"Sampling sux"(Foundation of hip hop)
"Hip hop community frowns upon intelligence"
"Stupid things *insert rapper* just did"
"Why hip hop sux now"

Same guys cosigning and posting in all these to down my/our culture come right back "how do you make this sound like on the 2 Chainz track?" or "lil B lookin for beats" and all the sudden they suckin the same guys they just whined about how ignorant they were.

It's especially lame when I know the guy(generally discussing, no one particular)who keep jumpin on and off dyks is some kid who never been around nothing to even have an understanding of why the stuff that goes on in our culture does.

There's plenty of guys with opposing views to mine I feel have the right(Rome, Troup, Tone come to mind)because at least they know enough about the culture to form their own opinion.

But for every one of them, there's tons of guys who want to produce for Jay-Z, but wouldn't have a convo with him if he was just some guy named Sean Carter who worked in the cubicle next to them for no other reason than..."they wouldn't understand him".

This is exactly what I ment in my last post...also in another thread somewhere. Ppl never talk about whats good in hip hop...ever its always something bad and so wrong....but when its in another genre nobody cares its like oh really okay...life goes on.

Lambo chain? Really? But Souljah Boy ain't got a real Lambo yet. He still in the US model I coulda bought if I passed on getting a house.

That's the ridiculousness that comes from what was once culture.
