I been down south many a time, and for the most part all ya'll do is jump around the club throwing elbows, talking to broads with stank breath from their gold teeth, looking like ya'll coming out of a hot church only to go attend your cousin Tay's kindegarten graduation.

NYC is known for dances primarily due to the West Indian influence. In NY we move on the dance floor, all ya'll do, ESPECIALLY in South Carolina, is shucking and jiving. So thats no comparison.

Since we're trying to be facetious with the fact that we know Tupac's birthname let's atleast point out the fact that it was given to him by his mother purposely out of fear for his safety. If your parents were targeted as his were than maybe they'd take precautions from endangering their child as well. Afeni changed his name to Tupac Amaru Shakur a year later and had always intended on that being his name. What sucks is that she had to feel that she couldn't do that in the first place.

Oh yeah, Tupac > BIG..... flame on :D
 
Y'all gotta think a little bit... If dude really had millions BEFORE he signed with a major he would have never done it. There would be NO incentive because no rapper is gettin a Mariah Carey type deal (Not even Jay) and its a lot more BS that comes with being on a major that sombody already getiing LARGe money wouldn't want. its going against logic. Why do you think so many rappers are moving away from majors and doing stuff on labels like koch? I mean as much as I think dude is corny Jim Jones is actually doin' it. He's albums have sold over a 100k EACH not combined, you do the math. I'm not saying dude wasn't doing his theing on the texas scene and I'm not saying he wasn't making straight money (as compared to a lot of people in the hood) but dude was pulling in 7 figures. point blank period. Don't let the shines fool you. If you know someone thats a jeweler they'll hip you to the game about how much that stuff really costs and what its really worth
 
yes hes been sellin on the screw tapes for like 10+ years....and not to mention being signed to star track label you make paper, and then check up on it with beyonce......**** the album sales artists dont make money off the album sales .....its touring n **** where you make money......its funny to me how paul wall, n slimm thug, and mike jones, and chamillionaire, are just recently gettin props and exposure, and i been listenin to them since i was in high school like 10 years ago!!!!

there is an incentive.....better promotion and distribution...which IS why people go with koch because they just distribute to the masses in major record stores, n ballers, dope boys, indie labels with enuff paper to record a quality project, go to a koch just to get distribution,.....that is the incentive, also under a label you get better production and exposure...thats incentive.............and as we all know its hard for dope boys to spend lots of dirty money so us people on the outside wouldnt really know how much money he had, he could have stacks n bundles all over the place you dont know....

koch is a bad example of indie label....they are big (relatively spaekin and got a whole freakin lot of artists)

Lets see 5 to 8 dollars per cd independent or 10-12 points (if your lucky as a new rapper) per major cd

And your point is? That's still his birth name. Whats your point? Thats his moms changed it when he was a year old?

I personally believe Tupacs mom was paranoid if she had to do that. I also believe she's cashing in on her sons death just as much as Bob Marleys wife. And THAT, is DISGUSTING.

And for Tupac was better than BIG, lets do simple math. They were both considered legendary, but Tupac released 6 albums to do it while he was alive, and was in about 6 or 7 movies. BIG released two albums and no movies.

I like how you added that after I posted.

But Koch isn't a major and the reason that people are going to koch isn't just for promotion and distrubution but because Koch can't compete with a major in terms of sheer capacity. Artists go with koch because on a per unit basis they make a significant amout more money and my point still stands that IF he was making millions indie before he got signed to a major, there isn't much of a reason to care about all the other stuff.
