If you go to (FL 3.56) Packs>Hip Hop>Snares
There is a clap there, that is similar to the one used in "in da club". I actually copied just his drum beat almost identically. Threw in my own melody, came out pretty cool. Thats the best way to learn. I guess..

how in the hizzy did you do that and using what? what equipment i mean?

a zoom802?

No I am not all that advanced yet. I just started this FLoop thing about 2 months ago. I just used FL to create the drum beat from 'in da club'.

Questions to copying styles of sounds from already written songs get no slack here do they lmao. This Forum is pretty funny.

I love it.

The clap sounds like its delayed by a few ticks.. so you actually hear two claps close together. Also I think it hits just behind the beats (2 and 4) which kind of gives it a very laid back groove.

There was a thread here once where I was trying to break down In Da Club with FL... That was fun.

Yes, but still there are silent people in the background who think ripping someones elses track is low, and the person doing so is not a producer, but a common thief. I think being a thief is pathetic. Nobody's perfect I know, but come on, there are 100000 sample cd's out there to sample.

Peace

I was referring to the "Clap" sound which this thread was about in the beginning. What I mean is, that there are a lot of sample cd's (vocal sample-cd's, drum samples etc.) which are designed for producers so they can sample them and use the samples on the cd's roayalty free. And that's cool. But when you record something from someone else's track, you're messing with copyrights. If this track you made with the illegal sample ends up in the charts, the artist (or the label representatives) can easily prove you ripped the sample from their release and you can bet that they will come after you in form of a law suite to get each cent you've made on their expense.

Basically it's this simple; when you delibrately take something that is not yours, you are stealing. The dictionary defines this person as a thief. And for the record, I've sampled too, so I don't want to get too hypocrite here. But I've mend my ways and now I'm preaching to others. :D

sample cd's are cd's that have sounds on em that you can use to make beats with. it might be a clapping sound, or a 2 second piano chord or whatever, and you just take those sounds from the cd and build your own songs.

if u want a 5 seconds sample, you could get a wave editor like Cool Edit and select 5 seconds from the song, and just work from there and combine it with some other samples like some drums.

and if u want old skool samples, you need old skool songs. download some old songs or buy some records.

Dude....samplin old shcool **** has been done..be original man....create ur own style..good luck wit whateva u doin though..peace =)

What I'm trying to do is sample stuff from movies. Like Un Chien Andalou... It's damn hard to get the audio though =[

I thought it was done by having a bunch of clap samples loaded in his sampler and then just throwing his hand down across the keys, so you get like 5/6 claps, some ahead of the beat, some behind.

He could have done this a couple of times and then picked out the best "clap" and gone with it.

if u want u could jack it straight from eves Satisfaction theres a big open spot with it all by itsself

"I'm here for a reason, tell me what it is please friends"

I have that clap.:D

A bunch of the sounds included in FL I recognize as AKAI samples. I don't listen to the radio a lot, but my brother does.

They played some R&B-like track that had the HIP_snare3 sample under the hip hop directory in FL. The sound was layered though so it's not exactly the same. I am not saying the track was done in FL although it doesn't matter if it was done in FL or not, but some FL samples are actually usable.

My point is just put a little work in and things will eventually start getting better and better. I am not directing this towards anyone in particular.

On Gearslutz there was a whole thread about it too and a guy said that the exact whole loop is on an old sample CD. He even linked that.
