I'm contempt with making all my shit on the keyboard 4 now. I wanna get a simple mpc just for drums though.

content. contempt totally changes the meaning of that sentence.

i'm weak in everything but noise. my noise is second to none. anything at all melodic and i fall apart

Yo I been trying to work on my vocals now nothing I makes sounds any good to me.

Realisitic sounding woodwinds. Between bad vsts and lack of knowledge, i can't figure it out!

I recommend to anyone trying to use a vst to emulate a real instrument, To get a better idea of at least how it sounds when played properly. You should hit up youtube and just look around for examples. There are some decent instructional videos that show how someone would play that instrument. Thats how I figured out more or less the mechanics of an electric guitar, harmonica, still learning piano, organ, etc.

I agree. I guess i'm a bit of a music nerd but i enjoy learning about different instruments even if i can't play them it helps me emulate them w/ software b/c i know how their supposed to sound.

Knowing how an instrument is played usually takes you further than out of nowhere "advanced compositions". 3-5 notes hit and layered correctly go further than a full ensemble that's just not realistically possible and doesn't sit right.

^ completely agree, i used to have a very similar problem with my drums.
an O.G. producer that owns the studio i go to would always be like
"your drummer got 4 arms or something?" and i never knew what he meant. till one day i just sat down and had him go over everything.
i was making drum patterns with that weren't really all that possible.
when i relaxed and started to study how it worked the beats got better.
