What's the difference between EDM and Progressive House?

I don't really see any difference between those two genres, so I was wondering if somebody could explain to me about that... or is EDM the "super-genre" where all other forms of electro belong to?

edm is indeed the super genre - covers the gamut of most stuff that use mostly electronic means to create sounds

The God awful term EDM covers prog house, electro house, trance etc. As a house man I hate the term.
I suppose it's a bit like how Urban covers multiple genres

And "Rock" covering all sub-genres (sometimes metal as well).
