What's the deal with FL's soundgoodizer?

I feel like it's a mix of "standard" settings of reverb, EQ, and compression, but I'm not sure how it works.

Regardless, it really does add a nice sound to my tracks most of the time.

Anybody use this? Know how it works?
 
i throw it on most my beats on the master track, it fattens up the sound alot
 
It's quite a weird sound, I think it's a couple settings made from from their multi-band compressor, probably with very narrow Q.
 
ha, i thought i would learn something when i clicked this post. but i'm glad we all agree it's basically worthless. except, i suppose, for those just starting to use FL. in that manner, it would be an easy means of adding a few needed effects.
 
its presets from maximus...

"Maximus is much more than a pristine quality Mastering Maximizer, it's also a Compressor, Limiter, Noise Gate, Expander, Ducker and De-esser."

Its just multiband compressor @work...

Edit: Its only a 3 band also.. I havent pulled out my waves in awhile but, im pretty sure u can have more then 3 bands!

haha i opened up my c4... its only 4 bands but that adds that much more funstionality!

iZotope Ozone 4's presets work well for certain stuff too. It's tempting sometimes to just pull one up and leave it
 
a peace of shit for mastering...my advice know how to use compressors and limiters, and eq and all that good stuff yourself...the future you will thank you in the past ..
 
yes soundgoodizer sucks... maximus on the other hand can be sufficient enough for most... only thing better i can think of is the linear phase multiband offered by waves... I highly doubt most of us can hear the difference between warped/distorted harmonic phases...
 
Hmmm i have to say i've never liked using the SG. I found it made my mixes sounds harsh and more hissy and thin than fat and full.
Izotopes my go to plus a bunch other shit i wont mention.. ;)
