I've always wanted to know this but does anyone by any chance happen to know what keyboard OR sound is used for the famous "Between the sheets" by the Isley Brothers ???

Basically the main melody, heard straight from the beginning. It has always sounded to me like an Electric Piano or something, passed thru effects and stuff.

i could be wrong, but that sounds like Earnie playing the guitar. your askin bout real muscians playin real instruments. the exact instruments could be any kind/brand. i'm sure it's listed somewhere if you ask google. but there wasn't a whole of magic going on back then, just real muscians playin real instruments, all the way thru, no midi no nothing. you phucked up, you played it again. talent, it's a lost commodity these days.

Ya its a bass, guitar with a rhodes or something all playing those chords at the same time and then the bass does its thing.

I've looked all over google and came up with nothing. What I did find though was that Chris Jasper did all the Keyboard & Synth work for the group and it also stated that he used the famous MOOG Synthesizer.

But I guess it's true wat u say LevLover, it was just real musicians playing real instruments and it could also very well be a combination of instruments like Obi said.

Here's the thing though, I can definitely hear a Synth Bass under there. But I'm still wondering what is it that makes up the main melody. I'm still leaning towards a Keyboard sound or an EP making that sound and if it is a keyboard, it had to have come out before 1983, which was the year the song was released.
