What was the better album in 2003 The Black Album or Get Rich or Die Trying?

Get rich or die trying was waaaay better than the black album. The black album basically didn't need to get made, and I'm a fan of Jay's.

in 2003, i was livin grimey, 2 bedroom apartment, no job except 1, umm, anyway, grodt deff fit how i was a lot more then, back then i didnt even enjoy jay z, funny how your tastes change

but i remember getting grodt, this lil cat named brian came to my spot, and he bought it the day it came out, i traded him a dub sack for it, lol and we all bumped that cd forever it seemed like

"what up gangstttaaa"

but now, grodt is the only 50 album i can stomach

ima have to go with grodt. i had that joint in my cd player for months. i dont think i ever listened to a cd over and over again more than that one. i loved the black album too but ima have to give it to 50.
 
I didn't like Get Rich Or Die Tryin'... before 50 blew up as far as mainstream is concerned... it was 50 mania up here in New York. I was sick of the album before it even dropped. The album was tough but I was just annoyed and 'til this day I don't even wanna hear it.

As far as The Black Album is concerned, I thought it was aight. Then again my favorite Jay-Z album is In My Lifetime Vol. 1. There were a lcouple of songs on The Black Album that I didn't listen to after the first couple of times that I've listened to the album. Looking back on that album now I don't like it as much as I used to.

sorry i gotta say the black album...

i just cant listen 2 50's first cd like that...it was HARD dont get me wrong BUT im a die hard jay fan and i bump allure, lucifer, change clothes, dirt off ya shoulders, public service ann. almost daily..

The music was so good that it had a major impact on the game.
 
No it was just different from the pop **** that Ja had everyone on and 50 brought it back to the streets...add that with Eminem and Dre backing him and they were really rap juggernauts....
 
damn i wanna say the black album so badly, but i think GRODT had a bigger impact...but that wasnt the question, so which one if i had 2 choose...the black album...but i seen what 50 did to the world...he really did something no one has done again in a long time...

by the way...the black album>the blueprint...blueprint was all about the production and the nas battle, but wasn't one of jigga's top 4 cd's if u ask me...


the black album was jay's return to including lyricism and wordplay in his music instead of just giving the people what they want to hear...
