What was the better album in 2003 The Black Album or Get Rich or Die Trying?

GRODT because that's one of the albums that made me want to get into music.

Lyrically, the black album.
Based on timing, GRODT. try actually listening to the lyrics. Just came out at the right time imo.

50's.............this would have been much harder to decide if it were blueprint vs get rich or die tryin

Black album was a real good album but Get Rich just had a very big impact.

Get Rich, off the "Backdown" lines alone.
Yo mami, yo papi, that B**ch you chasin
Ya little dirty ass kids, I'll F***in erase them....Coooold Bloooded

Me and Stage are talking about these 2 albums and hip hop music...

This nigga just said that KRS-One is NOT a legend and NAS IS a pioneer of rap music...wtf?!?!?

i did bump the grodt hard when it came out, but thats when people thought fiddy hot, now i have no respect for him at all ima say the black album

Respect has nothing to do with good music my dude.

I know artists personally that I do NOT respect but I still listen to their music because it's good.

Sales: GRODT
Impact: GRODT
Better IMO: GRODT, not because of the above two realities. To this day I still bump GRODT. I don't really bump The Black Album, maybe a track here and there.

Forreal, thread starter should change the thread title, then we'll have a real debate.

The Black Album was cool because it's Jay-Z retirement album. A lot of good songs on there, but it didn't make a big different musically. Same producers and soulful joints.

GRODT is an album full of #1 hits. Everything on here was straight crack. You can hear how hungry 50 was on this album.

Yeh it's funny you can actually HEAR his hunger in it. It's weird

ok then say Blueprint vs GRODT....

Now that's a good discussion topic. This discussion might lead to 30 pages, so beware.

Both albums can be play from front to back.

So let's compare the stand out joints from both albums.

street banger: U Don't Know vs. What Up Gangsta (hard one to decide)

emotional track: Renegade vs. Many Men (hard one too damn)

club banger: Izzo vs. In da Club (50 cent wins, but Izzo got that classic feels to it)

Pimp song: Girls, Girls, Girls vs. PIMP (hard one)

Romantic song: Song Cry vs. 21 Questions (hard one, a fat kid love cake)

Whip song: Jigga that Nigga vs. Blood Hound (hard one)

Lyrical song: Lyrical Exercise vs. Don't Push Me (50 wins, thank to Lloyd Bank, and Eminem)

Diss song: Renagade vs. Back Down (hard one)

I can't really decide. It all depends on which mood that I'm in.

I would give it to Jay, because of the lyrics.

Black Album is better than GRODT and Blueprint is on an entirely different level. A rapper as limited as 50 could never come close to making an album as good as The Blueprint.

black album... 50's rappin aint that damn good to listen to over jay's... plus id rather hear smooth ****...

Damn Meetro tough question...lol. I'f were going on which album i liked more i'd have 2 go w/ The Black Album. If were talkin which album had a bigger impact on hip-hop i give it 2 GRODT.

Black Album>Blueprint imo.

I was trying to tell Stage that GRODT just had a crazy impact at that time because it was the end of the Ja Rule Era and all that. But when you sit back and just listen to the songs The Black Album was just put together better...
