Seems like there are a lot of different experiences/opinions on the matter, thread's actually gettin more attention than I expected, def not a bad thing

Great replies from all of you

and to answer your Q JSL, I'm not really leaning in any specific direction yet field or minor-wise.

I think my problem is that I have no idea what I would want to do as a career...

Well to further stress my point, easier to make some engineering studies and get a degree in communication or business to compliment it rather than starting with communication and trying to drift toward engineering afterwards.

If you want to build up a company, or even if you apply somewhere, it will be much easier. But that's me being careful.

If you don't know what you want to do, broaden your scope. Learn everything you can to be successful. That's what matters.

LOL I did not want to say it but ....

A Dj friend of mine got his Communications degree from UNO and he could not get a good job for anything. He had to join the Navy. Really what good is a communication degree?

Oh y'all answer my question above...

What is wrong with The Navy?

Well...that is the first step. Gotta figure out what u wanna do in life.

Just ask yourself what type of things do you enjoy or find interesting. Don't think about it job wise, just in general.

For me, it was computers and electronics. I loved figuring out what made
things work, and then making them go.

So I chose Electrical Engineering/Information Systems

^ that's why I was leaning towards communications/psychology.

I like knowing how people work mentally and emotionally and how to apply that in life. I like helping people, etc.

I don't like always being around people, but I like people...lol

Other than that, I'm just one of those dudes that can do a few artistic things when I feel like it.

Wow dis threads still alive im a senior in high school now so this is very

informational to me too

ok, cool, then feel free to explore a little so you can discover what you want out of life.

Yep, prolly the best choice.

N I hear you B.A.S.E, I might have to give computer science a try, but that means a lot more math and science, lol. I'm not bad at either, but far from a fan of both. I was actually in pre-calc in HS but senioritis hit me like a muthaphucka and I barely passed. As far as science goes the last course I took in that regard was during my sophomore year in H.S.

I was actually signed up for a terminal math course already, So I guess I would have to get special permission to sign up for a more advanced course that meets the requirements for that major.
