hey so for christmas im gettin this dj mixer with software but i dont have a clue what it is and what im going to do with it
do get to diffrent types of songs and mix them ?
and do i need anything ese to become a dj
what does a vinyl or what ever it is do ?

Dj is a person who selects music and mixes it together. Some dj's scratch.

Vinyl records are simply an analog storage medium for music. You'd need a turntable to play vinyl records (or as a dj, preferrably two tt's and a suitable dj-mixer to be able to mix).

To make serious hip hop beats or being a legit producer, would u think it's necessary to have a turn table? so far im just using fl studio and a midi keyboard.

No. You don't HAVE to have a turntable, especially if you are not sampling records.
