as far as the "in the club" beat, that was scott storch, not dre. yes, dre has an mpc, but he doesnt really do the physical tracks these days..... mel man uses one to. i know scott storch works with keyboards alot.... and so what if its an mpc and a triton? who cares? you are some dumb, ignorant morons.

Scott Storch is also responsible for Christina Aguilera's "Fighter," "Can't Hold Us Down" and several of Pink's terrible, terrible songs.

None of us is an angel.

Keep producing.

I'm computer literate. I can program in CSound. I use Reaktor and MAX/MSP. I use an MPC because I (gasp!) LIKE IT. It's quick, it's simple, it's got a unique sound, and it's incredibly fun. But it won't make a magic beat for you. Like everyone in the world has said, it ain't the box, it's the hands.

I said i'm gonna reconstruct it but i don't have patience. I did the rhythm and it sounded almost the same
I have the midi file and everything but i don't feel like searching for the perfect strings basses etc.
Instead of that i'm going to do more beats of my own.

anyone needs the pure rhythm?

I'm with ya on that. It's a neat excercise to break down a track but it loses it's fun real quick. Nothing like creating a new track from the ether of the universe.. :D

Akai MPC series...what does it do different ?

Can someone give me an honest opinion about the Akai MPC series. What can it do differently from other sequencers, samplers, WAV, MP3 and loop players ?
I have 24 track sequencing gear VS series, a sampler on the Triton and Pro tools.
I also can play stereo Samples in WAV and MP3 form from the Triton and I can add various effects before and after sampling from various outboard gear or from the triton itself.
I have so far been able to sample live horns and drum kits myself. Is there any thing apart from this that the MPC can do ? Please let me know and enlighten me.

Thanks

Phill C,
The main attraction of the MPC is the pads, If you are like me, you hate playing drums and percussion on a keyboard. The Mpc is dummy-proof also. It also has a certain sound to it when some of the function are abused. Other than that there is no real difference. So many people have them because they are the standard. You know what they say, "If it ain't broke, why fix it?"

MPC again...

Thanks Ralph,
I have actually perfected the art of playing drums on keys through habitual practice...this one's a convert from the M1 days so, I may just keep using my old gear.
One last question. Why do people say the mpc has got a unique sound of its own ? like in one of the replys above ? It doesn't come pre programmed with samples or beats does it ?
I have heared this so many times ?

Thanks for your reply mate !
