I want to buy hardware Sampler and i am thinking between akai 1000 and akai 2000XL. i haven't got loads of cash.
2000XL is huge why? 1000 is small has usb, compact flash card with 128mb, why
to pay more for 2000XL???

Couldn't tell ya why the 2000xl is so big? I think they redesigned the old 2000, really don't know? But if u are looking at an mpc, I'm selling my mpc 1000 on ebay. Check it out.

this should be in the hardware samplers forum.... also are you looking for a sampler or a sampler sequencer??? if your jsut going for a sampler i suggest taken a look at the akai s3000xl it's very nice with nive crosslooping and fading (stuff the mpc series aside from the 4k doesn't do.
the mpc isn't a full fledged sampler. it's more of a bare bones sampler with the sequencer and midi controler....

if your using a comp. with it i might suggest a 1000, if your going with all hardware set up then i'd def. be looking at the 2kxl.

Thanks Flux302!! your answer sounds wise,
couse i use comp so i think 1000 would be betta...cheers!! ya all

get an asr10

There is no best! Honestly though, as much as I love my MPCs, I wouldn't say that they are the best hardware samplers -- far from it. I'd pick the XL over the 1000 though, simply because I'm biased in the case and never had an interest in the 1000; that doesn't mean it's best for you though.

In the end, I'd choose an ASR10 over an MPC, if I was forced to -- but I'm not being forced so I'll just agree with it as a valid option.

also if your capable of springin for the extra you could go mpc 2500 in wich case you get the best of both worlds (usb option and timestrectching...)
