What happened to Xzibit?

He played at LIVE EARTH, and i guess when he was presented the chance to host pimp my ride, he jumped at it because it would have been a change from doing music for so long. Hes done some collabs not long ago and then im sure hell do an album or summits when hes ready
 
pimping peoples ****in rides!!!!!!!!! after that his rap career was over but i doubt he cares niggas getting paid with the car biz!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I dont know if anyone posted this response, but "Pimp my Ride" had a lot to do with his downfall in rap. If you look at his album sales after that show, you will see that they consistently sold less. The problem was that he was marketing himself as a hardcore/gangster rapper, with all the C-walk/chucks/blues lyrics. But on the show, people could see thats not what he really was, so I think he lost the respect of that fan base.


Now you may point to Snoop because he does all types of corny shows, but Snoop has been around a lot longer than XZ. Snoop is also now more of a "Party" rapper rather than Gangster rapper. He has successfully crossed over to the pop crowd via Justin Timberlake.

Yeah...i have never understood Snoop's longevity...the dude came with Doggystyle in 93 and is STILL hot. I can;t think of anyone who's been considered cool for that long, except maybe Jay-Z, but he came in later than Snoop.

In a way, I could never see X as a party rapper....unless he gets a really hot beat and features T-Pain on it. He's too rough, but at the same time he's trying to be all mainstream (Concentrate...i'm sorry, but I lost MUNDO respect for him for making that track)

btw....snoop is only 36?? I always thought he was close to Dre's age.
 
They stuck a fork in Pimp My Ride. So he'll be back in the studio soon. If he's not already.

Pretty tight....it would have been sick is Game's "Da ****" went to X instead of game....in fact...why not give all of Doctor's advocate to Xzibit...sorry, was that mean?

Yes that was mean, because Game made D.A a killer album you know?

X could not have done a better job. I have read from previous posts of yours your dislike for Game, understandable but you cant front, D.A was a killen album.

Im still contemplating wether classic or not, because Lets Ride and Around the World sucked major ass, but Why You Hate the Game kinda made up for everything made in 2006 that was bad.

it was to good for Game.. no offense, i loved that D.A. album, but i just pictured it to be much bigger.. like.. Scarface, or a real legend of legends to spit on that krazy beat..

I disagree with you there. Game did well on it, he ripped it, and dont even get me started on Nas either.

That song is how you are suppose to end an album.

Like Father Like Son was a great ending also for Documentary.

But WYHTG (lol) was absolutely killen, for Game, and id rather Game spit on it than Scarface.

Idk...I gotta admit, I WAS a Game fan...like, I would check his wikipedia page once a week (at least) up until the release of D.A....thought he was decent, and I wanted to see if he could put out a good second album after documentary.

All in all, it was good. "One Night", "Too Much", "Let's Ride", "Wouldn't Get Far", "Da ****", these were all sick tracks. And Game's raps were more or less bearable...but he just started getting OLD.

I listened to Game haters arguments, and it's true, he is FAR from lyrical. "Dre", "Compton" "2pac", 90% of his rhymes are straight name drops.

And his beefs, his tantrums....haha, oh my god, he beefed with Vida Guerra. He said he would NOT be on Detox if 50 Cent was on it. He talked too highly of himself for a dude who compared himself to Rakim (smh....)

So, DA was good....but honestly, it wasn't the best...let me put it this way....it was good, FOR GAME....but as an album, it wasn't legendary or anything.
