Beenie Man got me interested, Shabba got me hooked. I wasn't venturing much past my Dennis Brown & Jimmy Cliff CD's before. Its still find it hard to get my head around the ammount of stuff out there when we are exposed to so little here in the UK. You have to trvael to London just to get a decent section of albums.

I see you're getting younger....living backwards. Beenie then Shabba? Shabba was big waaaaaaayyyyy before Beenie Man. But I guess with the current dancehall explosion you might hear the current ones first before you hear the oldies. Shabba is one of the greatest. You should have seen his performance 2 years ago at SASHI. Da bomb.

True. I'm only 19. I remember Shabba from Housecall and Mr Loverman when was young, but it was really Who Am I by Beenie Man that got me interested (even though I don't have much care for it anymore). Then I looked around and listened too a few things and bought Shabba's Caan Dunn and loved it.
Seeing him live must ahve been great. I didn't realise he was still perfroming, is he still recording too?

Not doing much recording nowadays. His style doesn't fit todays riddims as much. The show that I was talking about had Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, P. Diddy and his crew, Shaggy and some others. Shabba tore the place down. It was wicked. Is "Caan Dun" the double CD? If it is, it's wicked?

Yeah its the double CD, it has rarely left my CD player since. I would personally listen to Shabba than most of todays stuff. Must be amazing living in Jamaica surrounded by reggae everyday.
